Horrendously bad experience. Sharon Parkes is one of the rudest, least professional people I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. She gave me a valuation for my property and I attempted to market the property for sale. However, the estate agent informed me that her valuation was "insane" and he refused to put the property on the market at that price because "it would make everyone look ridiculous". Sharon's valuation for my property was approximately 40% higher than the valuations given by numerous estate agents. Furthermore, we gave Sharon very specific instructions to survey the property for damage. When she came to the property she refused to carry out this inspection, stating that it was "just a valuation". She is now refusing to give a refund despite admitting that she didn't carry out the work we paid her to do. We are now in the process of taking Sharon to court, hopefully we will get our money back but she has wasted months of our time thanks to her incompetence.... Read more

Possibly the worst, most unprofessional company I have seen. I arranged for Parkes Valuation to ring me half an hour before they arrived as I wasn't living at the property I was selling. The lady who runs the firm arrived without ringing me and was very nasty on the phone. Then she undervalued my house which lost me the sale. I sold it for 3 grand less 6 month later so with the extra mortgage payments she cost me over 6 grand. I would advise anybody wanting a valuation to steer well clear of this terrible company.... Very dissatisfied. Valuer grossly undervalued house causing all sorts of problems and our house sale fell through, though it need not have. Found the Parkes woman valuer rude as well as incompetent. We had it valued by two other companies who concurred with the estate agent and we did sell the house, thanks to a fair and proper valuation service used by a different financial establishment. I have to say, is it really in the interests of building societies to use people like this who err on the ridiculous side of caution? AVOID.... Read more
