Best advice I can give - DO NOT purchase a home built by Pentland Homes. Research deeper into past developments they have built and the huge number of defects. Maybe look at Campion Close where every house facing the A20 had windows that leaked. These are not the odd problems it is a development wide problem of not building quality houses.... Read more

I have mixed feelings about Pentland Homes, Saxon Fields. I waited for 7 months for my new home to be built -I'm not faulting the workmanship which was satisfactory - my main grievance was I felt seriously let down because I found all the other new homes including those of the same build spec as mine were fitted with a glass porch and mine wasn't . I wrote a series of emails to Pentlands Customer Care asking for an explanation but got conflicting responses that were far from convincing. My home sticks out like a sore thumb from the surrounding 50-60 homes because it was the only one in the phase 1 and 2 development without a porch. I asked myself why had Pentlands treated me differently? Could it be that I was overly enthusiastic about the purchase or was it that I was a cash buyer? I don't know the explanation nor have I received a plausible explanation from Pentlands. I was told they were sorry about how I felt but they assured me that the porch was not included in the plan of my house -I had previously seen that my neighbour himself had the identical plan as mine but he was given a porch and I wasn't . I regret not questioned this earlier when I went'to view the half finished house but I didn't for a moment suspect I would be treated different to all the other buyers!... Read more

Buyer beware!! Lovely for the first couple of years then the cheap poor quality fittings begin to show they're not fit for purpose!!! My mum, who is a pensioner, purchased an apartment by Pentland homes. It is now 4 years old. It has poor quality windows and doors among other problems. Pentland have told her they are not responsible for these as they are moving parts! The double glazed door has a gap that will blow out a candle!! This company promotes good quality but in our experience once the buildings have been lived in for a few years it certainly is not!... Read more
