DO NOT USE THESE CRIMINALS. I rented a place from them a few years ago when I was a student and our boiler broke down mid January we were told “it isn’t a priority” it was pretty cold that winter and we had no heating or hot water from Mid January until March. We also had a huge hole in the bathroom ceiling. They simply didn’t care. The chap that owns the business cake round to intimidate us he is a special kind of reprobate. There were loads and loads of other issues but this was the worst. Just don’t use them!... Read more

When we first moved into the house, its was horrible and looked like it had not been cleaned in years, things were falling apart, stains on carpets and black stuff coming out of the sink and showers. after we moved out of the house, they have been no help what so ever, they have been very rude when we have been trying to get our deposit back, which we still havent recived, and everytime we have called up they have said, 'its not our problem'. Any advice to anyone, do not pick this company for student houseing, they do not care about thier clients or thier houses, SERIOUSLY AVOID!!!!!... Read more

My daughter moved in a property here I never wanted her to but she insisted, had to clean all the dust dirt from builders plus she stood on nails that went through her foot & bled, I have the photos attitudes were so! Sorry that's it was kept clean long story short because my daughter had Aspergers I was in support of her finances I scrubbed that flat even polished taps course got deposit back. Jump to a couple of years later she married an American moved back there to a different flat upstairs but bigger then sent downstairs to the grottiest flat a pathetic living area worktops ok,fridge broken shelf,two years on tape stuck over vent in bathroom that smells showers broken ages to repair heating broken down again ages to repair. The grass outside my daughter tried to make nice but other tenants let their dog run over it dig it up & leave faeces every where,my daughter has a dog but she picks all the poop up !! Over a year ago huge leak in bedroom ruined orthopaedic mattress I have her not you !! her lats ruined water pouring from ceiling,given a machine to dry dirty water off carpet it stunk they ended up after landlord was on holiday,claiming on home insurance as they couldn't sleep in the bedroom it stunk (I smelt it myself went to witness ) getting new carpet no compensation just told off for claiming & refusing to pay anything shes'now got two mattresses that she has to sleep on still no lats replaced & it's a dump outside scruffy grass overgrown bushes weeds steps you can slip on because of the lack of maintenance she also got told off because they paid a fee £100 to put a fence round for privacy the landlords attitude was " I never asked for it " now because she struggles on benefits applying for many 100s of jobs her rents behind it's been paid before a few times so I'm going to council on Wednesday to hope she's got the property she bid for she's A1 priority. Oh & to finish off she's waited months for parts for a broken down dishwasher parts come she waited all day no one came!! The builders ha don't make me laugh my husband was a builder he'd have been sacked for behaving like they do, leave dirt filth around,some wires sticking out of the building next to the 1940s old front door what in goodnes names are they!! The gas metered are all opened exposed one has to jump down a hole to get to them. The finale is the streets a disgrace & she's had rats living under her floor & they're getting on at her for overdue rent theyreasking £550 for this tenement. Just hurry up Mark Pickering & sell the whole shabby lot because how the building inspectors habent come round & condemned the whole place is beyond me. She asked to go back into the cheaper one round the corner & refused they want her out because she has a disability they can't deal with. Do not go near !!!!... Read more

Currently 10 months into a tenancy. The day we moved in we had a sofa with a collapsed arm, it's still here. Mould in two bedrooms, today they have painted over it. Mould because heaters do not work in bedrooms and they have failed to repair them despite being asked to 3 times. In preparation for the next tenants today they came round and decided to paint other damages, but also all over our belongings too! Carpets have also been painted too with rubbish left all over it. Can't wait to move on July and get away from these awful estate agents. If thinking of moving into a property of theirs, I would seriously reconsider!... Read more

Went to view several properties in Leeds from a variety of agents and Pickering's were the worst, the houses were NOTHING like the descriptions online and the staff were disinterested. Nobody cared and we felt our business was unwanted.... Read more

Viewed a property with our Daughter, who had travelled from London, specifically to view properties. Agents representative turned up 20 minutes late and sort of apologised for the fact, but "He had forgotten the keys", when he arrived the first time. Likely story, as we were there 15 minutes early and no sign of him then. Property, 262 Lidgett Lane, Moortown, Leeds, is in a diabolical state. Photographs on website ARE NOT representative of the actual state of the property, which has been split up into 6 or 7 Student Bedsits, which are clean and tidy, but has totally wrecked the inside of the property. Agents representative said he actually owned the property and when asked, why he was selling the property replied, "He just had too much going on to be bothered with it", well it shows because outside is a complete mess, with brambles and overgrown bushes everwhere, rubbish and last years rotten apples lying on the drive and path to entrance door. ... I hate to even give them one star, by far THE worst estate agents I have ever come across. Staff aren't up to date with ANY of the tenants problems. Our house was a disgrace. After several times telling them we were having a leak they still didn't bother with us over christmas so we had no hot water or heating. Ended up having a carbon monoxide leak in our property which they did nothing about and claimed to have not known after several phone calls and visits. Absolute disgrace of a company and for your own health and safety DO NOT SIGN WITH THIS ESTATE AGENTS... Read more

Pickerings are by far the WORST letting agent I have dealt with in my 5 years living in Leeds. 5 months on from moving out of my tenancy, I still have not received my deposit back. The property was a disgrace from the moment we moved in, including stained carpets and walls to broken cupboards, a filthy oven and a non defrosted freezer. We reported these online when we first moved in however they never properly got professionally attended to, as you would expect an agent to do so. Upon vacating the property and giving the place a large clean, Pickering have tried to charge us a third of all our deposits stating we left the property in a bad state. The actual fact of the matter is Pickerings never carried out adequate repairs or professional cleaning. They then accused us of being the cause of these problems and claimed they had photographic evidence showing the state before we moved in yet they have been reluctant to evidence these. But if course we neither took any photos to our dismay. In our opinion, Pickerings never truly inspected the property and never carried out necessary repairs. They are now trying to make us pay for their own laziness. Months later, they still have not given us our deposits or come to a suitable medium. I think ADR may be the next route for us. However for any of you thinking about going with Pickerings, DO NOT DO IT! unless you like incompetence as there idea of a deep oven clean is apparently a 16 year old lad with a brush..... Read more

Awful. As soon as we had signed for the property and paid admin fees, deposits and the first months rent they did not want to know. The property was in a terrible condition, very dirty and furniture damaged. The response times to problems with the property were laughable. On leaving the property at the end of the tenancy they tried to charge us for everything they could Students should look elsewhere.... Read more
