Having worked in property for nearly 17 years, i honestly believe this might just be the most unprofessional, money grabbing agency I have come across! I found myself needing to rent a property which allowed pets. I came across a house which was very run down but allowed pets (that's what the agent informed me). So having agreed a move in date which was put back a number of times due to the current tenant needing more time, we made our way to the house at 3pm - as the time had been pushed back and back. Walking into the house was an eye opener! The place was disgusting - the agent used a bullying tactic to get us to sign and left us with a list of promises! Ie the landlord would get the gardens straightened up and safe for the dogs as most of the fences had fallen in. Also informed rooms would be painted as the walls had been left in such a state. On initial inspection the agent informed me the landlord was ok with us improving the deco and replacing carpets.
Two days after moving in, it was brought to our attention by a very unpleasant email from the MD that we basically had to put up with the property as is as they changed their minds! Having gone back and forth stating what was discussed we ended up with meeting the landlord at the property - who agreed the agent wasnt working in anyone's best interest other than for themselves. It also appeared the agent wasn't informing the landlord of our initial requests and even that we had pets!
During the tenancy after replacing carpets, painting the whole house - agreed by the landlord and signed off that he was happy with it, we received letters from the agent that we made changes to our contract, by decorating, owning pets etc etc, and we had to either leave or pay compensation!
Platinum estates I understand no longer deal with rentals, however the same unprofessional people happen to work here! So avoid with all costs. Platinum estates is a pure example of why agents have bad names! Cowboy's!... Read more

Exceptionally Helpful & Knowledge. Initially tried a national agencies that promised the world but they seemed more interested in my mortgage than selling our home. Derek from Platinum Estates assessed the issues with their marketing and put together a professional approach and within 3 weeks we had many viewing sand many offers. We accepted the offer from a family and they moving date happened about 11 week later. They supported us through the sale with a fresh and common sense advice on our mortgage and conveyancing.... First call and first person you'll encounter will be on hangover unable to understand a number you are spelling. Don't worry - he will pass you to a colleague asking you completely irrelevant questions and the fun goes on. Irritating waste of time.... Read more

Property listings are matched to data from the Land Registry by our clever algorithm. Clever as it may be, it isn't always right, especially if a property was listed by multiple agents. The asking price is the original listing price, NOT the final listing price.
