Absolutely despicable behaviour from this letting agent company. After two years of residency, leaving the flat in a much better condition than we were expected to tolerate, they took advantage of our deposit exceeding the value of £1000.
I witnessed them instruct the repair man to cover up a rotting bath frame, which was causing maggots to infest our bathroom. Moreover, the unreasonable deductions from our deposit were not even acted on. Charged included replacing the electronic door bell system, which was fully functioning, and the responsibility of the landlords.
Moreover, they refused to provide receipts for the services totalling the deposit deduction fee, which is illegal.
I had neighbours who lived in the flat before and warned me that Portico had attempted to keep the entire of their deposit, and that it was only through support from Citizens Advice, that they were able to be refunded.
As a person living with a mental disability, I wasn't as resilient in defending myself against an agency, and after disclosing this information to them, they proceeded to take advantage of my vulnerability, all during the cost of living crisis.
In less you have money to loose, and are desperate enough to support and cold and inhumane company, DO NOT RENT FROM PORTICO!

Recently had an inquiry about a property close to King's Cross and called Portico to inquire. Maggie who I spoke with was incredibly kind and helpful and a total breath of fresh air from the typical realtor pushy-ness that I have experienced over the years living in London. Will definitely be using Portico for my North London searches from now on! Great website too, highly recommend!

I had a great experience with Portico Camden recently. Maggie quickly replied to my enquiry on Rightmove and arranged viewing for the property I was interested in. During the viewing she showed me the property, providing necessary information and help, but giving me the time for privacy. When she learned my needs she suggested a couple more flats that I may be interested in if I have time. So I viewed 3 flats in one go that helps me to save time. Maggie was also very supportive to arranging one more viewing for my family, aligning with very strict timing restrictions of my family members. Thank you Maggie for the great customer service!

Magdi (Magdolna Jakab) in sales was excellent. I am an overseas buyer and she was proactive and patient and sent me detailed videos, arranged video viewings, advised me of new properties that met my criteria and generally went above and beyond without being pushy. I can’t thank her enough. I have dealt with over 10 Agents in our quest to buy a property in London and Magdi was the best by far. Thank you Magdi.

Throughout my property research, Meera at the Portico team supported me. Her level of professional attitude and sincere interest in helping me as a potential buyer was beyond any other agent I have ever experienced n London market. I would definitely work with Meera in a heart beat again. In a market, in which most of the agencies do not seem to care much about the interests of the buyers, I would definitely say Meera's service was incredibly positive and encouraging. The letting process was great. But stay far far away if they’re managing your property. For the second time in 6 months I have emergency boiler issues that they’ve taken more than 48 hours to deal with. There is no direct way to contact your agent. They refuse to respond to emails. Nothing was fixed or properly cleaned in the flat before I moved in and while they’ve inspected the flat again, no one can be bothered to fix anything.

I had great experience with Portico Camden recently. Maggie answered my phone when I wanted to make an enquiry about available properties within my budget. She not only showed me a flat but also arranged a call with a mortgage broker who addressed to my concerns about getting a mortgage. Maggie was very welcoming, supportive and possesses great knowlegde about the area. I will definitely contact her in the future when I have enough deposit to invest in a flat.
