We had a mixed experience with Preston Baker. We chose them for their reviews online and at first contact with the Doncaster office they were quick to reply and tried moving our sale along promptly. Then our agent suddenly stopped communicating and when we tried contacting them we found out she had left but no one informed us. This happened a couple of times.
Our house was eventually assigned to Terry Burrows (Leeds office) and she was good to us. She took care of our sale for almost a year until the end, even after two potential buyers dropped off and issues with the house made our sale more complicated.
Sadly by then the market had changed and we weren’t able to sell for the value we had hoped for.
Not sure if I would recommend the Doncaster office. I would recommend Terry for sure. (Terry, if you are reading this thank you for persevering with us and for helping us get a decent price in a difficult selling process)... Read more

They lied that the buyer was a first time buyer and prepared to wait until we had found a place. The first we became aware was when they told us our buyers were were being pressured by their buyers. The staff member denied telling us the buyers were first time.
We were still waiting for information on the property we were buying to decide if we were going ahead. The staff member had contacted our solicitor and told them we were going ahead with the purchase.
After making a complaint about staff member and asking she was removed from the case.
We should have pulled out at this point as we had lost trust in the company.
We ended up pulling out the week contracts were due to be exchanged.
We felt the staff member was working for the buyer not us who were paying them. Our experience of the staff we dealt with is that they are patronising and unprofessional.... Read more

Promised a lot delivered nothing!!!
Swapped from our old local agency who we had one viewing to Preston baker on the promise of more viewers
Definitely have people on there books that would buy our property!! Had the marketing ploy before open house...
Well 3 months later we still had no one through the door!!
Dropped the price from my local agent to generate more interest no one!!! I was told I was getting a better service from them for £4500 more than my old agent! Yes a phone call once a week! All they wanted me to do was drop the price!! Was asked if I wanted to move by Christmas dropping the price by £25,000!!!!! Asked if she could guarantee this .....no but we will be approaching different people on our books!!! So for all they promised they failed to deliver unless they wanted me to take a hit of ££££££
On my property.......... Read more

They were courteous, helpful when things were not totally clear; they followed up after the sale hoping to help with a purchase but that didn't work. For one who is not used to all this house purchase/ sales business, they were sufficiently informative. My only disappointment was being given a solicitor in another town too far away to relate to physically. We over came it in the end. The price aimed at in their evaluation was not achieved and in the end they did not pursue a sale with an inappropriate purchaser [to my mind] and did pursue one with a more appropriate person; that may have worked to our slight detriment personally but better for my ex-neighbours. So I appreciate their personal touch; it worked sufficiently well within a reasonable time for the sale to be finalised.... Read more

They sent several buyers to view. Initially they accompanied the viewers, but that soon stopped. They were the 3rd agent I had used. They had it on their books for 4/5 weeks when a sale was agreed.
However, in the end I felt they were working more for the buyer than myself. They persuaded me that a particular buyer was a good one as they were in rented property. They didn't pass on the info that the couple only wanted the property for a "buy to let". Had I known this I wouldn't agree. Buyer reduced price by £4k a week after initial offer.... Read more
