If you’re a student, there are agencies that treat you better. I have been in Brighton 5 years with 5 different student agencies and Q estate agency is the worst one. The level of communication between them with themselves and our house is poor (Even before Covid-19). All 5 years my deposit in other locations have been handed in less than a week after moving out. Q agents still haven’t returned any deposit, 2 weeks + just because of their communication within their own establishment. We only know because WE have to keep calling them everyday and emailing and always get told a different story or that they forgot to tell someone to do it. The lack of communication is what makes them unprofessional and come across worse.

The friendliest and smoothest experience I’ve had with a letting agency - everybody I spoke to was helpful, friendly and made the move seamless. Shoutout to Ben who managed the process for me and was always on hand to answer my million questions, and Jemima for conducting an excellent viewing particularly with COVID limitations in place.

I bought my home through Q a few years ago and found it a really stressful experience. Whilst they got the job done, I found their customer service lacking. They were quite aggressive and rude - at least the guy we dealt with who i think was called James. He was frustrated with us because we were cautious first time buyers and wanted to ensure everything was done properly (such as getting confirmation that an RSJ had been put in after the removal of a supporting wall), which he took as us intentionally holding up the process (which we had no reason to do). We also felt they were a little sexist in tending to only deal with my boyfriend. I felt that they made our first home-buying experience quite unpleasant unfortunately. I can see they have lots of other good reviews, so maybe it was just a personality clash. I imagine they're good for sellers, but weren't so good for us as buyers, although they did leave us a bottle of red on completion, so that was nice and i enjoyed it very much.

We loved finding our new home through Q, they were always on hand to answer questions and help get our offer accepted. They've given us great advice throughout, especially during lockdown when everything was up in the air from mortgages to chains. We found them so helpful that we decided to also rent out our flat through them. Their packages are very reasonable and offer alot of support in all aspects.

Q Estate Agents sold my home in East Sussex in 2019. From start to finish, the team were thorough, professional and friendly.  The sale itself was not without problems due to prospective purchasers who presented a number of problems along the way, but eventually a buyer was found and the sale secured.  John, the negotiator was charming and helpful when showing people around and I had no qualms at all about leaving him with a key to the property for viewings. I found the experience difficult because I was moving from a much loved family home, but Q offered to do accompanied viewings, despite the distance from their offices; this meant I was spared the trauma of dealing with people looking over my home, a prospect which I found quite hard to deal with.  Both Jim and James were sympathetic and gently guided me through the process, recognising how hard I was finding the whole thing.   I can thoroughly recommend this practice and would have no hesitation in  putting their names forward to anyone looking to buy or sell their home.

After selling our property through Q, they quickly found us a very convenient short term rental while we awaited completion of a house purchase.  The whole lettings team at Q went the extra mile from day one and put our needs at the forefront of everything they did.  They are professional, passionate about what they do and take great care over every aspect of dealing with their tenants.  Down-to-earth, trustworthy and intelligent...qualities all too seldom seen in this industry!

Q were fantastic at handling the sale of our property. They were always friendly, professional, happy to answer any questions about both our sale and prospective purchase (which they had no link to). The listing they put together for our property was excellent, with really nice photos and they really did all they could for us at all stages. They are not at all pushy, and I felt I could really trust them and their advice, something that certainly can't be said for all estate agents! This was our third attempted house purchase (only one that was successful and only one with Qs Estate Agents) In the past we had some not so great dealings with estate agents who were very pushy, dishonest and not good communicators. Not the case for Qs! Very approachable, happy to answer our questions and did so in good time, yet were not pushy with us (for instance when waiting for things like the survey, or other things outside of our control!) this made the process a lot less stressful (considering how stressful house buying is) and although I hope I don't need to buy another house, if we did I would happily use Qs again!

James and his team provided an excellent service in selling our property. They were unlike other estate agents in that they were always entirely personable, approachable, pragmatic and throughout it all - utterly professional. Our tenants were always informed and kept up to date on viewings and Q Estate kept their promise in keeping disruption to an absolute minimum. James provided us with sound advice in getting the legalities / required paperwork together before we put our property on the market which meant that when it came to selling, it was a smooth process and only took 6 weeks! AND we sold above the asking price! We can't recommend them highly enough!

James & Co didn't just sell my house, they mentored me through the whole experience of selling my home and navigating the purchase and negotiations on the property I wanted to buy. They are utterly grown-up professionals and kind human beings who are passionate about what they do. They take pride in helping their clients through the often dreadfully stressful experience of selling and buying. Someone should give these people a medal.

James and Jim did an excellent job dealing with the sale of our property in Brighton. In a challenging market and with a less-than-straightforward property, James obtained a price above other agents' estimations and provided a superb service while doing so, keeping us up to date with all interest, viewings and offers in and out of office hours. Any difficulties, and he will step and and go the extra mile for me. The whole team have excellent training and qualifications, lacking with so many Agents who employ very young and inexperienced people. I can't rate Q Estates highly enough. We in the UK are currently facing chaos across the board. In spite of a particularly tricky sale and purchase, including malpractice from my solicitors, I was supported at every turn on many fronts. I had an offer accepted on a flat on the basis it was taken off the market. The following day Q took other buyers around, informed me a higher offer had been made, and wanted ‘highest bids’ to be made. Really unpleasant thing to do to someone - I hope no one loses money because of their poor values.
On a positive, for Q money reigns so if you are selling you can ensure you get the best price.

The team at Q managed my property for over ten years, and always gave a highly professional, thorough, helpful and friendly service. Eventually I decided to sell the property and they secured a great price. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering using their service.

During our home purchase process we have dealt with different agents and a lot of them "make mistakes" on floorplans, use nasty tactics to reveal your real budget, give your personal details to their mortgage broker without your knowledge or consent and so on...
Luckily for us Q Sales & Letting are honourable exception from property agent stereotype. Even though our process was bumpy because of issues on other front, I have to say service provided by Q Sales & Lettings was great and I could definitely recommend them to anyone.

I have used Q Lets for my rental properties for many years. They have been very helpful in finding good tenants, looking after the properties and dealing with all the paperwork. They even make good coffee!

We chose Q Estates to sell our flat earlier this year after being struck by how human they seemed compared to other estate agents. And we made the right choice because throughout an extremely difficult sale they remained enthusiastic, conscientious, and seemed genuinely to have our best interests at heart. They were also the only reliable agents in the whole chain and by far the most competent: without their hard work in liaising between all the various parties there is no doubt that the whole thing would have collapsed long ago. Highly recommended. (If we hadn't vowed to never move again we'd use them again in a flash.)
