In recent years, we have been discussing the possibility of my parents moving from the family home of 50 years to a retirement property. We saw that Richmond Villages offer independent, assisted living and care home options on the same site which we thought was a good concept so that any change in needs can be accommodated within the same community. We picked Letcombe Regis because it is situated roughly halfway between my brother and I. We booked an appointment for both of us to view, initially without mum and dad. Unfortunately, due to covid, I wasn’t able to go but Damian, one of the village advisers, was happy for just my brother to visit with a view to potentially showing it all to me separately at a later date. He gave a comprehensive tour of all the facilities and my brother was very impressed with the beautifully maintained site, the staff and the fact that all the residents seemed happy to be there! He was keen for us to show it to mum and dad and we decided with them that they should go for a 7 night ‘try before you buy’ stay. A few weeks later, I took them and Damian kindly showed me some of the properties for sale (both independent and assisted) so that I would know what mum and dad would be seeing later in the week once they had settled in. Moving at any age is a big decision and Damian spent time with them discussing what they were looking for and whether or not this move was right for them in terms of a retirement village and Letcombe Regis in particular. They viewed a number of properties several times and, by the end of the week, had an offer accepted on an independent living apartment. Since then, all the staff have been extremely helpful in assisting us to get the process underway. As a family, we are all very excited for the move. Hopefully mum and dad will soon feel part of a new community and will be able to enjoy some of the many activities the village has to offer.... Read more

The Letcombe Regis site is absolutely lovely and my mother is very happy having moved in recently. The sales team at Richmond Villages assisted hugely with the move process, being very proactive chasing down issues along our transaction chain. Thanks very much to Damian and Barbara. Once moved in the maintenance team have also been very helpful (sorting out issues with the boiler and even hanging a couple of mirrors/pictures). Since my Mum has lived at Richmond Village Letcombe Regis I have not had to worry about her. She is extremely well looked after 24/7, having all her needs met. Every single member of staff are very friendly, caring and obliging they all go out their way to make sure Mum is comfortable and happy. Many know her by name and a few even know my name although I am not able to visit as often as I’d like to. I am 100% sure that she is safe and well looked after. The village has superb decor and furnishings, lots of nice places to sit and chat, watch the world go by or have forty winks. I have found all the staff to be approachable and have always answered any questions that I’ve had straight away. Richmond Village at Letcombe Regis comes very highly recommended as a safe, friendly and luxurious place to live.... Read more

The village is a lovely location situated in a nature reserve. I have lived here since September 23 and have been very happy. The staff are excellent and look after you very well. There are lots of activities which are varied so something for everyone. I enjoy the restaurant however can have room service if I want. It is like being on holiday. I do feel I have value for money as there is so much here and I am very happy being in the village, the tranquility is exactly what I need at this time of my life.... Read more

We recently had the pleasure of spending a couple of days at Richmond Villages, Letcombe Regis. It is in a lovely setting with a nature reserve and some wonderful walks on the doorstep, ideal for wildlife lovers. There are even some tables in the restaurant where you may see a kingfisher fishing in the brook - we were lucky enough to spot one on our visit! It is very peaceful there, and has beautifully kept gardens brimming with flowers, you can even grow your own veg there if that appeals. There are lots of areas both inside and out where you can sit and enjoy a social get-together or just relax in peace on your own. We were in one of the apartments in the Village centre, it has been recently refurbished and the decor is very attractive, it is well positioned for easy access to the facilities, including the restaurant, spa, library and craft room. As avid readers we had to tear ourselves away from the abundant collection of books supplied in the library and around the building and the various magazines and newspapers available to read. There's also a bowling green, croquet lawn, cafe and shop on your doorstep too. We enjoyed the swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam and you can also pamper yourself with a selection of treatments in the spa. There are also plentiful activities to participate in if you wish and the regular theme evenings in the restaurant are great for socialising. In the restaurant the food was very tasty and enjoyable and there was a good choice. The thing that really stood out was the staff who without exception were all very caring, friendly and helpful which undoubtedly helped contribute to the lovely ambience that we felt around the village. The countryside setting is lovely the grounds are beautifully landscaped, the village is situated next to a nature reserve and the onsite facilities are impressive, but perhaps you would expect that in the circumstances. Culture is different; that is a product of committed people working at it every day. It is those entrusted people that make the difference and cultivate the values that create the culture. My Father was a fiercely independent person all his life living on his own and catering for all his own needs until recently when he took up residence in Richmond Village on an assisted living basis. It is very difficult to be uprooted from your home, moved across the country to a new and alien environment and be expected to make new friends and acquaintances at the best of times, but when you are in your 90s even more so. The staff are all very conscious to maintain independence whilst also promoting a sense of community and homeliness and they helped him achieve that. Yes, the setting is all that you would expect but the culture is also remarkable where nothing is too much trouble, and any needs however basic or complicated will be dealt with in an effective and efficient manner.... I have visited the village 3 times already, invited to give performances for the home owners/residents. The members of the staff (particularly Sonia, Pam and Andrew) go above and beyond expectations, and eveytime I see how caring and attentive they are, creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment for every one. The attention to detail in the design and the amenities provided for the residents really stood out. I can see why it would be such a wonderful places for retirees to spend their golden years. Richmond Retirement Village at Letcombe Regis is set in stunning surroundings with a nature reserve on the doorstep, lots of mature trees, a lake & plenty of wildlife. Wantage market town is close by and easily accessible with own transport or transport provided by Richmond. There is a variety of apartments to choose from. Staff are friendly & caring. The residents are friendly & sociable. There are a range of activities on offer, including the wellness spa, sports discussions, bowls, bridge club, book club & afternoon tea. Richmond also have services like hair dressing, physio & ‘footcare’ available on site which is where I come in!!... Read more

My mother has now been at Richmond Village, Letcombe Regis for just over six months. Our experience of the retirement village has been very positive, and the process of purchasing was straightforward. We took advantage of the ‘try before you buy’ scheme when my mother stayed for a trial week, giving her a good introduction to village life. The centre has just undergone a major and very tasteful refurbishment in the communal areas. The ambience is warm and welcoming and without doubt the staff are the greatest asset of this very high-quality establishment. Following COVID lockdowns and the increasing age of my mother it was time to find somewhere for her to live closer to my home. We wanted flexible assistance for a woman who is still, at 95, fiercely independent. Richmond Village provides this whilst encouraging and enabling residents to maintain as much independence as possible. Regular keep-fit sessions have my mother feeling fitter and walking more than she has in recent years. Concerts, opera, theme evenings, memory games, keep fit and much, more keep her busy and engaged. There are frequent minibus trips into the local towns for shopping and excursions. In fact, her repeated complaint about living at Richmond Village is, that there is so much to do the time just seems to disappear! National events are celebrated with gusto, anyone visiting over the recent King’s Coronation would have experienced this. She has not once regretted the move or looked back on what was becoming an increasingly isolated life and nor have we. If you are thinking that an elderly relative needs more support then you should certainly visit Richmond Village, Letcombe Regis and see for yourselves.... Read more

We recently viewed several Retirement Villages and none could compare with Richmond Letcombe for ambience, facilities and properties. We quickly decided to buy an apartment greatly helped by the practical advice and enthusiasm of the sales. The whole process of buying was dealt with professionally and in no time we were moving in. Moving is very stressful and all the staff have gone out of their way to be helpful and nothing has been too much trouble. We needed some work carried out in the week before we moved. This was all organised and supervised on our behalf and on arrival the apartment was immaculate. We are not the most sociable couple, other residents have introduced themselves and warmly welcomed us but are happy to give us space to settle in. Slowly we will probably join but there is no pressure to join the bridge gang! When we need more support I am assured that the care home and staff are the very best. So far so good and to be highly recommended.... Read more
