Cooke Curtis & co were as pleasant and helpful as anything; up until they had our money in their hands. From which point on, their charade of attentiveness subsided; leaving only pettiness, persnicketiness, and disrespectfulness. If you in any way value yourself as a tenant, you deserve better. Avoid at all costs.
Abbotts have managed my property for a few months and were very helpful during the renovations and later in letting the property.
Alex Burch managed the process of checking tenants in and out and finding new tenants efficiently while keeping me in the loop at all times and responding promptly to my queries.
Olivia Mindel on the management side has been particularly helpful and efficient sorting out any issues with the tenant. I recommend them to Cambridge landlords.
They took over the management of the property I initially rented from another agency. I was an ideal tenant, professional, quiet, not damaging anything, always paying bills and rents on time and cancelling all my utility bills when checked out. The landlord refused to release the deposit and unwilling to communicate his reasons. This agency did not help me whatsoever to try to solve this problem. With a landlord unwilling to communicate and release deposit and with an agency unwilling to help, after 2 months I ended up opening a dispute in MyDeposit where the deposit was hold. Extremely disappointed.
A great place to buy a new home, close to the hospital
Travelled all the way down from Toddington today after arranging via Bidwells. Thankfully we had arranged to view some of the other developments because Aura, Cambridge had the two most incompetent women working in the showroom and marketing suite! There whole manner as soon as we walked in was totally unacceptable, rude and not welcoming whatsoever! The one sitting at her desk proceeded in stuffing her face with food rather than helping the customers with questions whilst the other one just wanted us out of the way!
When we asked if there was a 3/4 bed to see she proceeded in telling us that what if we were ready to move in straightaway then we could see it but as we weren’t ready to move get your properties sold and then comeback in March and we will let you see the show property! I mean this is ridiculous and nobody else works like this. When the other women then tried to say we could see it I just had enough and said we wouldn’t ever give our well earned money to such an incompetent set of people and developer who employ such embiciles and would rather take our business elsewhere!
stay away as there are far better developments with great people that we saw at Ninewells, Trumpington Meadows who were enthusiastic and friendly and very professional in Cambridge!!!
Look elsewhere as these women are too interested in stuffing their faces with food than actually looking after their customers!

Very disappointed in this agency's actions as we were moving out - agent Mathew Rose turned up without us having received notification of him wanting to show people around out flat - despite 24 hour legal notice period. Claims he sent the email but we did not receive it. He didn't follow it up with us when we didn't reply to confirm that it was OK and just showed up unannounced and invaded our privacy. Christianne Tipler returned our deposit late outside of the 10 day period in which it should legally be returned. When we complained about this and requested the £25 fee they charge you (on top of the millions of other ridiculous fees) to be returned seeing as it was late, Christianne showed appalling customer service and repeatedly argued with me bringing up completely irrelevant information and essentially just lying about things that she claimed we had not done at the end of the tenancy. We eventually got this money (on principal) by complaining to the director of the company. It shouldn't need to go that far - it shouldn't cause that much stress.
They messed up the payment, Christianne should have had the grace to refund us the fee as a showing of good will and customer service. It felt like the agency was only pleasant to us whilst we were of use to them - i.e. when they were getting money out of us (as per every other letting agency a small fortune of fees for various admin things that really don't cost that much) and then were quite happy to screw us for as much money as possible once they knew we were not going to be tenants with them any more.
I would therefore avoid them. Though lets face it all these agencies are soulless, money grabbing institutions who try to bleed you dry of as much of your hard earned money as possible. Let's hope our shambles of a government really does finally get rid of these ridiculous fees.
