we didn't have power for 2 months as a result of poor maintenance of our house which they knew about, yet kept blaming it on our appliances - to which we got £10 compensation each (haha). The estate agents besides the ones who later quit were generally nasty and manipulative. They only care about money, charged the previous tenants in the property £500 for the removal of two sofas that never took place. Our entire house was covered in black mould, the radiators in my room never worked making me ill. Refused to talk to anyone but the lead tenant, then ignored lead tenant. Overall 10/10 if you like being treated like animals.... Read more

I used Saffron to rent a flat in central London for 10 months, and the service was very good. The flat was quite old so things (such as radiators) did break but Saffron were always quick to send contractors round to fix things. I’ve had bad experiences with agencies in London in the past so was apprehensive at first, but it was a pleasant 10 months and Beatrice (our letting agent) was very cooperative and helpful.... Worst estate agents I’ve ever been with. To summarise, they’re 100% money grabbers, take over 5 months to fix something and do not want communicate with you unless it’s money related. I would steer clear of this agency. Friendly salespeople of course, but once you put down a holding fee it all goes downhill.... Read more

Staff are rude, intimidating and dishonest. This tenancy has been very difficult. We have been told that this is not our home 'it is the landlord's home' and they have no respect for their tenants. Living at a Saffron managed property is an emotionally taxing, full time job. Do not rent through them for the sake of your own wellbeing.... Read more

Renting a property with Saffron has been at best, a chore, at worst, downright chaos. Their staff are under qualified, over worked, blunt and rude in their communication. They have no sense of initiative, leaving us to guide our estate agent through the entire rental process. If you can avoid it, do not rent a house from this agency.... Read more

Without a doubt, the worst estate agency I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. When we moved in, the flat hadn't even been properly cleaned! Other problems included: mice infestation (mice present before we moved in), kitchen ceiling leaked, washing machine leaks, mould on the bathroom ceiling, mould in the washing machine, dirty microwave - covered with grease and dirt, missing parts, 7 missing lightbulbs, muddy wallpaper. All these problems either remain to this day (e.g. mice) or I have to fix myself. This was after reminding them several times to fix these issues to which they either didn't respond or gave excuses. Only ONE problem did they fix (the kitchen ceiling leaking) because it was dangerous to even live in the building. Now my estate agent, who is frequently 'at lunch break' when I or my flatmate have called, is not even responding to my emails about the mice. Hugely disappointed with the service overall. This company in my experince do not respond to emails or phone calls from tenants or landlords. This review is prompted by a case where operating as an agent for an owner occupier in a shared tenancy building under their management. They would not respond to emergency calls or emails notifying then of the fire brigade having been called to one of their properties for a suspected gas leak. Their main office number is repeatedly not answered and their extensions for lettings and property management automatically transfer to a Vodafone mobile which is not answered nor calls or messages responded to. This creates an image of a lack of professionalism and casts a poor light on their attitude to either property or occupant safety.... Read more
