Having read great reviews and heard similar positive feedback from local friends, we were looking forward to dinner at the Inn on the Hill. However, since most of these reviews were written, there appears to have been a change of ownership and whilst the menu has remained the same the quality clearly hasn't.
The slightly worn Argentinian steakhouse theme is at odds with the Italian delivery. This shouldn't affect the enjoyment of the food, but unfortunately, the steaks we were served were okay, but inconsistently cooked and presented in a manner you'd expect of a local cafe. The price point is what you would expect from a high quality restaurant, but the food is, at best average.
On the plus side, the wine menu is pretty good and the waiter's knowledge supported it.
There is a desire for a decent local restaurant and tremendous amount of good will shown to any owner willing to redeliver quality. Unfortunately, The Inn on the Hill currently falls way short of delivering.... Read more
