If I could give 0 stars I would. Corrupt, devious and obstructive. Andy Whitehead (note he's one of the reviewers who placed 4 stars!) is/was the head honcho of this lot. They're trying to strike the business off to draw a line under their debts and business atrocities as they go in to liquidation. Please, CONTACT COMPANIES HOUSE AND PUT IN AN OBJECTION to keep them open (THE FLAT AGENCY & MICHAEL BROWNS LTD Company number 06858103) keeping them open and not striking off (yet) makes settling monies owed a lot easier. I am a landlord; they have taken deposits from my tenants, withdrawn from the deposit protection scheme in Feb 2016 and appear to have scarpered with the monies (Well Andy certainly isn't returning my calls). Appalling, and illegal. Avoid this company at all costs, and as for Andy Whitehead I hope you can sleep well at night, because you've royally screwed over lots of hard working decent guys and girls....... Read more

Awful company. I've been with them in my past 3 tenancies so I speak from experience. IMPORTANT: if you are having difficulty chasing them for deposit and have a direct line to the landlord/lady, rest assured that you have more rights than you think. Immediately contact SHELTER. They gave me excellent free advice within minutes! I now know exactly what to do. Essentially your landlord/lady is responsible for your deposit, but if they're nice people and are suffering because of an awful agency, be diplomatic as they are obviously going through a hell of a time too! Had an absolute nightmare trying to get my deposit back from these crooks at the end of 2014. Numerous phonecalls, and emails to no avail, they even blocked my email address at one point which led to me turning up in person. Gives me great joy that they've been banned for 3 years, completely unprofessional company that cause misery for many.... Read more

Thieving little piece of stuff on the bottom of my shoe. No deposit returned keep getting passed on to accounts (when they bother to answer the phone). Keep getting fobbed off. Going to have to take them to court for my deposit. Along with lots of others by the look of it.... Read more

Terrible agency, avoid to have any business with them. 1. They never return ANY deposit to their tenant. No matter you chase them or not. They will NEVER return it to you. 2. They do not reply to any email, if you call them, you will only be able to speak to someone called Vix. Other than him, you will not be able to reach anyone else. 3. They DO NOT feel sorry for you even they are suppose to return your deposit 90 days ago. They think they are absolutely right to not returning your deposit to you.... Read more

I have used this agency for two years to manage my property in Southampton. They are very poor at returning calls and replying to emails. They are currently behind with payments of rent to myself and other landlords - see the Yell website (under The Flat Agency & Michael Browns Ltd.) for further comments from landlords awaiting payment and tenants trying to recover deposits. They have refused to communicate for 12 days and counting. Please be warned.... Read more
