Been using these EAs for 3 years now and they are hit and miss. but more miss than hit! Communication is dire to say the least. I'm always receiving duplicate emails and phone calls, lack of feedback, hardly ever return calls unless you strictly specify. There just seems to be a real ack of initiative. A very good example: they arranged a time with my tenants to take photographs of the flat. Not only did Townends not turn up, they never apologised, nor rearranged!

We changed from Haart to Townends this summer 2016 and are very happy with the management of our flat in Croydon. It is very professionally run by Diane Armstrong and her team who are all very anxious to please. Highly recommended.

You could not ask for a better service, well done to Diane and her team. I wish more companies would provide this level of care and getting the results you are looking for. It is so refreshing, you pick up the phone , request for a tenant and within a few days they have found a suitable tenant ,they take care of the vetting,agreement and inventory process, making it hassle free. I would highly recommend Townends to any landlord or tenant. and sort out the whole vetting of tenants, they find tenants in a very quick turnaround and are so professional and efficient in throughtout the due tenant due diligence process, tenancy agreement and the inventory

Early days, but I decided to go with Townends because I was especially impressed with Diane Armstrong"s approach at and after our initial meeting. She was thoroughly prepared, clear about the likely valuation of my letting and willing to discuss ways in which Townend's could help me to attract the right tenant and provide excellent with the stress-free fully managed service I am looking for. I am looking forward to entrusting my letting to Townends next year.

We found Townends 3 years ago through the Internet which rated their Brook Green office as the best in the area. Over the three years we had been working with them we met very nice individuals who were pleasant and accommodating face to face. Townends found us two sets of tenants so our property did not remain unoccupied during the three year period. The problems we had as absentee landlords concerned the services rendered on our behalf. 1. Townends contractor INEX was engaged to carry out repairs on at least two occasions regarding repairs. Their competence and workmanship were unacceptable. Despite protests from our side INEX were paid by Townends using our funds. Only after further protests and a contract renewal did we receive compensation for the substandard performance of INEX. 2. Townends contractor House Concept Ltd was engaged to install a new shower unit. They installed inappropriate units which failed to which the contractor blamed the tenant. This situation dragged on for 6 months until the intervention of the Townends upper management rectified the situation in a fair proper and amicable manner. 3. Lack of house inspections. During the two year tenancy of our first tenant there was no record of Townends having ever visited the flat to monitor that the flat was being maintained as per contract. Indeed when the first tenant vacated and the flat was marketed for a new tenant Townends were using images of the apartment which predates our purchase of the property. This situation was not rectified until the blunde was pointed out to Townends a Brook Green office. 4. Inventory checks carried out without notification to either the tenant or the landlord. When this was pointed out Townends promised to investigate and never followed up with a reply or explanation. Our overall impression was that the local office management personnel of Townends were either unwilling or not authorized to take the necessary decisions to render the proper support that a landlord requires. Having not used any other agents in the Barons Court area we can not say how Townends rate against other agents however I feel I had to spend far to much of my own time dealing directly with my tenants problems and was not rendered adequate support by Townends local office for whose services we paid each month.
