Why has my daughter's student let been passed to another company? After paying plenty fees the company "switched" after the last tenant has left the house beyond fit for human habitation. I would very much beware this company and anything they pass on the "Your move". I will happily stand outside their shop with my daughter that they've done this to, to warn you away from also giving them any money for any property to let. There was definitely biting insects in the property after visiting their handy work which was signed up to last year for this academic year. Property had been disgusting for a long period of time with no checks or legitimate servicing done by "Welcome Homes" (the irony of the name! ). Terrible service to landlords and tenants alike.... Terrible landlord. Most of their properties are "execution only" which means that once you have signed the tenancy agreement they will have absolutely nothing to do with the flat, despite you having paid them more than £400 in fees. We lived in a flat infested with beetles and they just kept giving us the landlords number (he lived in scotland and never answered) every time we complained. Their admin fees are also very expensive, avoid and use one of the bigger landlords. ` The landlord replied: It is now 8 months since James left the flat and through reading this review is the first Welcome Homes have heard of beetle issues with this flat by James and no beetle issues have been raised by the current tenants however, we will now check this out to confirm. For clarity the fees offered to James at the time of his tenancy to cover administration and referencing for himself and guarantor was £120 (3 persons sharing the flat). Many Thanks, Ash, Welcome Homes....... We mentioned the issues many times through phone calls and emails and were told that the landlord didn't pay for the package which included maintenance. That you will check with the current tenants is also a lie as they don't exist. The property is empty and still available to rent, although it is in such a disgusting state of repair that I doubt anybody would want to. The fees were initially half a months rent which amounted to giving them £490 +VAT for absolutely nothing except giving us a key (other student landlords are £99 per person and if you go through one not for students it's £50)... This was my first true experience of working through an Estate Agents and I have to say, I was impressed. I mainly dealt with a lovely lady called Emily. From our initial telephone conversation, to our first meeting at a prospective flat she was the epitome of professionalism and politeness. What made it all a little easier to manage personally was the fact she made me feel like I mattered and anything she could do to help she would do it. I was always greeted with a friendly conversation which made me feel like I was dealing with a friend rather than someone trying to get me to rent a property. I was kept informed throughout all area's of my dealings on a daily basis. Be it by phone, text or email. Everything was done efficiently and smoothly with the Estate Agents which was much appreciated as this helped keep the general stress levels down the entire time. All in all it was a great experience for myself and I would recommend them to everyone. ... Read more

Why didn't we come across Welcome Homes months back?! That's the question we are asking ourselves! The hassle myself and my friends have been through whilst looking for a place to rent in Jesmond was unreal. What a wonderful experience we have had with Welcome Homes. I knew as soon as we walked through the door of the office we had struck a good 'un. Smiles are few and far between nowadays- but not in that office they aren't! (think a special mention is in order here- Emily- What an asset to the business she is!) After a good chat and a cup of coffee we were escorted to each property; (all of which were very suitably hand picked) Affordable luxury with the edge of quirkiness- LOVE IT! Nothing was rushed. (unlike Pat Robson where the experience was terrible) We were given a choice as to where we would like to visit first. We were shown around the flat twice in one day; Enabling us to make our minds up in our own time. We were offered sound advice by Ash, Emily and Susan (being students we are rather new to all this) We were made to feel so comfortable and at ease. We are so pleased to have dropped on an extrodinary flat in Jesmond. From now on I will be mentioning Welcome Homes to everyone I meet who needs accomodation in the North East! Thank you Ash, Emily and Susan for helping us achieve what we wanted. As students we would highly reccommend Welcome Homes as not only a stepping stone but a kind and caring helping hand to finding suitable, affordable (yet that bit luxury) accomodation.... Read more
