As a tenant in one in the properties managed by Westbury, we have been treated with nothing but contempt and hostility by Alison Mooney, who I believe runs this dodgy little company. I had a broken door fob and was unable to access the building without it (and therefore my home), so I contacted Westbury to try to quickly organise a replacement. This was for some reason not the quick, standard process you'd expect, and for some reason Alison got involved - She was rude and unhelpful from the outset. Despite living in the property for 5 years, Alison's attitude was very much "you aren't the leaseholder so I don't care about you" and initially refused to let me purchase a replacement fob until our landlord contacted them. After some back and forth of me explaining that my landlord is not based in the UK and that this would mean that I cannot enter my home, she eventually agreed to allow me to replace the fob. Alison then quoted us £60 for the replacement, which is extortionate...I can get the same fob from several places for little more than £5. Unfortunately, due to the circumstances I had no choice but to go ahead with this, so I agreed, but also politely (despite her awful attitude) raised my concerns about the cost and suggested that it is reviewed for the future. It was at this point that Alison responded with "I am afraid that fobs do not cost £5, and we won’t be issuing anything to you now until I have heard from your landlord". I tried to raise a complaint with the company, but they apparently have no process for this as I am not their direct client, which seems ridiculous for any reputable organisation. For the head of a company which manages residential properties to personally willingly leave residents in a position where they are unable to access their own home is absolutely abhorrent, Alison you should be ashamed of yourself. Steer clear from this company at all costs if you can! If you are in my position and have no choice but to deal with them, then good luck!... Read more

Extremely high management charges for blocks they manage on behalf of their Jersey registered freeholder, dubious charges for non existent works, hiring of expensive tradesmen on which they get commissions, carrying out unnecessary and overpriced S20 works running into several hundred thousand pounds without proper consultation, threatening solicitors and above all, a crooked company run by Alison Mooney...
