Acorn Estate Agents have 35 branches and they mainly list properties in DA6, DA15, SE4, BR1, SE5, SE6, SE19 and DA1. Over the last 6 months, they've listed 1,185 properties, with an average time to sale of 13 weeks.
We have recently moved into a rented property through Acorn. Adam was incredibly helpful with the whole process and going above and beyond to answer any concerns or questions we had.
This has definitely been the most positive experience I've had with a letting agent and would highly recommend the Brockley team!
I would like to thank the Acorn group and especially Dammy Ajanaku for their quality of service and responsiveness. Thanks!
Fantastic service! I can't speak highly enough of Bradley and Jordan. They were professional, efficient and highly sympathetic during what proved to be an extremely stressful time....
They are fast and efficient and go the extra mile to make sure you are looked after.
I'll definitely use them again.
It is very clear that Acorn does not care about you as a customer. Dealing with them I found them extremely unprofessional, manipulative and unapologetic. Honesty would go a long way, but judging from their behaviour they have no idea of the definition of this word. Be highly cautious when dealing with Acorn Camberwell.
It also says a lot that the office is apologetic (see response below) as soon as a bad review goes public, and not before when one has the feeling of being played.
It was a pleasure going through the process the Acorn agent Vincent, he was really helpful and friendly when showing us around the flat. He responded to our questions quickly, really sold us the area and was just a really nice person to deal with.
*Update - The process of getting the flat had some slow periods mainly due to the landlord, but we were able to negotiate the rent via Acorn and ended up getting a great new home.
Nicholas Henderson was such a helpful staff, always polite and friendly even when I was so worried about getting all the paper work completed before my moving in date, he was still very attentive and professional with the way he spoke and handled my concerns. A pleasure to deal with. Thanks Nicholas
I couldn't have asked for a better sales agent in Jack Wilsher. I was very cautious after some disappointing experiences in the past, so there was a lot riding on this. Jack handled the viewings in a very professional manner, is a credit to Acorn and has restored my faith in estate agents. Both Jack and Branch Manager Yousef have really proven the worth of the Crystal Palace branch office and I look forward to a fruitful relationship into the future with this great team of people.
I have recently just let a flat with the acorn Crystal Palace team and they were brilliant from start to finish the whole team is responsive, friendly from Blake the lettings manager from the branch manager yousef and the sales negotiator jack I cannot recommended they’re services enough.
My partner had terrible service when purchasing a house. They were very slow to do anything. Charged us over £20 for sending letter. Then when they sent us a letter they did not attach stamps so we had to pay on top. Staff were rude. Took 6 months to do paper work for a sale house. Would not recommend. I feel we pay to much and got very poor service.
I worked with James who had a great attitude and was efficient and friendly. As a result I found a great flat to rent and Acorn were organised and made sure I got what I wanted. Now I've moved in, I know I can rely on Martin from the property management team who has also been very helpful. Above all, everyone I spoke to from Acorn has been very professional which shouldn't be taken for granted. Keep up the good work!
What can I say? James and Luisa have been looking after my property for years now and they always do the best by me. Give them a call if you have any questions.
I would like to thank Jonathon & Glen at Acorn for all of their support during the purchase of our new house. They were extremely helpful and always available to ask advise and answer any questions we had. Unfortunately due to the current circumstances they were not around to see us over the final hurdle, but we made it ! And couldn’t have done it without you- thank you !
I worked mainly with Jon (Mook) but also Glenn (Maher) to sell my house and they both did a great job.
Looking at the argument of traditional high street agents versus online ones I’d recommend Acorn and these two anytime.
One of my life rules is I don’t mind paying for things - so long as I’m getting my money’s worth... and that’s exactly how I felt with these two.
Yes they’re expensive (compared to online only) but they earned their commission, they never put their foot off the gas in the process of selling my home and they did a superb job right up til the point of exchange - and hopefully now beyond too!
Well worth it...
Acorn Grove Park Estate Agents have been excellent in facilitating the purchase of our new home. As first time buyers, this was a whole new experience for us. The estate agent (Oliver) was helpful throughout. He was easy to contact and willing to answer any questions we had. He also proved useful when dealing with our solicitor and settling negotiations between us and the sellers. I would recommend using Acorn Grove Park Estate Agents if looking to sell to first time buyers.
Very professional company. Staff very friendly and attentive in particular, Oliver Henness.
He was so supportive and really on my side when I thought it was going all wrong. Well done Oliver!
Selling is stressful at the best of times let alone during a pandemic. Adam and the team at Acorn were super helpful and always available on the end of the line despite the unknown. They made selling as stress free as it could be. I would definitely recommend Adam and Acorn.
Adam handled the sale of our flat - he was very hard-working, gave great advice and he found a buyer quickly. Adam involved himself with all the ins and outs with the local authority and was by our side throughout. I'd recommend Acorn. Also, when our sale fell through (no fault of Acorn) the lettings department found us tenants very quickly and were very professional.
I had excellent service with the Acorn Lewisham team.
I was so worried I was not going to find a place like home on time but they came through for me!
Special thanks to Mantas who was quite helpful, patient and professional throughout the viewing and referencing process up till my move in date.
Also Demi-Jay and Abigail who were competent enough to ensure all necessary documents were signed.
I will definitely recommend this estate agent to my other nursing collegues.
We've just (today!) exchanged on a property we found through Acorn and were really impressed with the agent, Franco, who we engaged with. He was always kind and responsive, helped us understand the process, and helped move the process on for us when solicitors were taking their time. We highly recommend him.
Purchased a house during the height of COVID-19’s first wave through this agency with the help of Beth and Poppy. Highly recommend them for freeholds as this agent seems to have a reputation for them in the area.
We’ve been searching Bermondsey for a freehold for 4 years. Beth has patiently, diligently shared and showed the suitable properties throughout that period. Poppy took care of us when our new house came up. They’re both brilliant. Beth is professional, easy to deal with, friendly and great at managing all parties in the transaction to ensure smooth and successful completion.
Acorn has been handling my property management for several years now and has expertly guided me through the change-over of many tenants and their requirements. Especially in this challenging climate, they were able to read the market and find the right tenant for the property. Acorn gives me worry-free peace of mind which is worth a fortune. Thank you to to the entire team.
Really impressed with the level of service from James Hoadley at the Peckham branch. He was quick to answer any request and talked us through every step of the process. Very helpful and friendly plus we love our property.
My holding deposit is not refundable apparently and this is the email I have been sent(
Unfortunately with failed referencing we do not refund the holding deposits as per the statement of account that you signed.)
I have withdrawn from them because the deadline to move in was end of July
It took them over 25 days to finalize everything and still asking me more stuff to bring as a result I had to pay full rent again in my current flat .
I can still logging to the referencing company
Everything is thicked green .
And status completed.
I will report you guys to the property ombudsman .
Ps :forgot to mention all my emails are being ignored.
I know that from June 2019 there are no fees applicable.
I have spoken to several estate agents
Explained my situation all of them said
To report .
To be continued.......
Amazing, fantastic, great service.
Ruggero was very helpful, available and professional throughout my renting process. Communication was great. He went above and beyond. He was an absolute God-send during this incredibly stressful time. I wouldn't have been able to do it without his help .
I highly recommend him and Acorn Estate Agency. Thank you very much Ruggero.
PLEASE NOTE: The below 5*review is no longer applicable. -DS
Streatham Acorn Letting agent Ruggero has been professional and friendly since I have been in touch with Acorn. It's great to receive such standard of customer service, empathy and due diligence. Thank you for your help!
Fortunately, not expecting you to carry boxes.
Kind Regards a BIG thank you to Ruggero and Blake.
As a first-time buyer I was excited to buy my first property with Acorn Sydenham, but they – Brendan Kennedy in particular – made my house-buying experience far more stressful than it otherwise would've been.
Brendan struggled to act as a proactive middle-man between my solicitors and the vendor's solicitors, to such an extent that there were threats to pull out higher up the chain because the process was taking so long. I was constantly discovering new information that wasn't being relayed to me and my solicitors – dates, COVID measures, enquiries etc. In the latter couple of weeks, I had to ring every party on a regular basis just to make sure things were getting done. This clearly irked Brendan, and he often didn't bother calling me back.
This lack of communication continued right up until the Friday before the Monday I was due to move in, when I couldn't even get hold of Brendan to ask when I could pick up the keys. He emailed me only at the very last minute on Friday, saying 48 hours as enough time to get everything sorted – though completely disregarding the fact I couldn't make arrangements over a weekend because they're not working days.
Finally, when I turned up on Monday and received a call from my solicitor telling me the contract was completed, I could see the previous owner was still in the property. When I rang Brendan about this, he refused to come down to manage the situation or even send a member of his team, and then proceeded to get seriously defensive with me. And the situation didn't end up getting resolved that day: I had no choice but to let the vendor stay in the property, and, when I arrived the next day, I found all his furniture – beds, mattresses, sofas, everything – was still there despite the purchase being vacant possession.
There were many people at fault in the process, and I'm well aware Acorn is not entirely to blame. But at no point did Brendan ever accept any sort of responsibility for this, or show some ounce of initiative or proactivity, or even – and this would have made so much of a difference – give me an apology. I know I'll receive some anodyne rebuttal from Acorn about how they did all they could, but that's just not true. I feel I managed to secure my flat in spite of Acorn, rather than thanks to them.
We sold our house over the difficult lockdown period and there were times when it seemed likely that the sale wouldn’t go through. The initial marketing release and open house day was well organised and we agreed an offer the following week. Lockdown happened and the buyer went underground but Brendan remained responsive during the whole period, which I really appreciated. Eventually the deal was resurrected and Dammy shepherded it the through to completion with his normal cheerful professionalism.
