Dafydd Hardy Estate Agents have 6 branches and they mainly list properties in LL57, LL55, LL65, LL30, LL77 and LL59. Over the last 6 months, they've listed 376 properties, with an average time to sale of 23 weeks.
As a mature student, having rented properties all my life, the student service provided by Daffyd Hardy is abhorrent. They have no interest in treating students like customers, well in the knowledge that each year a new horde of students will roll into the city and require housing. They are happy to pressure students into contracts with incorrect information, all the while hanging the threat loosing the property over there head. When it has come to claiming our deposit back, they are simply unwilling to carry out even the most basic checks. Waiting four weeks now for somebody to simply view the property to confirm the return of our deposit, despite our desperate need of our money back, the company is simply unwilling to treat students as customers, as it is clear from their behaviour the landlords are the only customers they pander too. Clear to see from the majority of reviews on google that they institutionally abuse their position as one of the only student estate agents in the city, with the majority of student properties under there management.
Me and partner visited the store a few months back. We had been given the news by our current estate agents that we had to move out of our current house as the landlady wanted it back to live in due to a dramatic change in their circumstances. We were assessing every estate agent in Holyhead to find the best for us. When we walked in we were slow to be greeted even though there were no other people in there. We explained our situation to the lady and were very promptly told there were no properties available. During the very brief dicussion the staff member kept glancing and a lady (presumably in a higher position) as if asking what to dd. She was the one that told us there was nothing. Im not one to write bad reviews but the whole situational made us feel very judged, to be told right of the bat, without going through any process of application (sitting us down, asking our names, finding out what property we need or are looking for, what area, what we can afford) that nothing was available . This struck me as very odd as previously when dealing with the Bangor branch (as a single woman) I had no problems and was shown a few properties to choose from. We are working couple and have been renting for over 2 years together. I do look much younger than I am and my partner is not from Britain. It felt like they had decided as soon as we walked in we weren't not the 'correct clientele' they were looking for. Very disappointed as we now rent with another agency and will be with them for a long time. Had they taken the time to actually find out more about us they could have had a nice addition to their income.
Very helpful and efficient. Responded quickly to requests for assistance and were good at communicating throughout the entire sales process.
My daughter has decided to fly the coop and started her search for "rented accommodation" starting with with Dafydd Hardy.
Having booked to see her 1st property, she was greeted by a representative, and duly ushered into the property.
When my daughter started asking questions ie: how long had the property been empty, what are the rates, is there any possible movement in the monthly rent etc, she was constantly advised that she did not have the answers, as she only dealt with "sales" not rented.
This did not bade well with my daughter and subsequent lack of information forth coming.
Other than to say she was not impressed with the service and why did they send someone out without the knowledge. She will not be going back again. 1st impressions count for a lot and it goes without saying that "people move on quickly after a bad experience" and word of mouth accounts for repeat business.
