I have had a very positive experience renting my property out through Northwood, my property manager Juliet has kept me up to date and helped me secure a tenant
I have had a positive experience with Northwood in Aberdeen. I have always had the help and advice needed, and I trust the honest feedback regarding market value. My aim was to get it let quickly and this was achieved with the information regarding decor, and market price. Nicola helped me with all the legal government certificates (of which there are a few! just an FYI to any new landlords) and these were organised by Northwood who coordinated everything.
Very bad customer service 2 weeks been progress. They said it will take 48 hours. I called two times the lady said I will check it and than call you but nobody called. Finally I sent email cancel application. Still no answer but someone read the email because I have seen flat on market again.
One of the most professional estate agents. I rented a flat through them recently- the whole experience was just like a breeze. The queries and issues resolution is absolutely professional and quick. I say these are estate agents with a 'heart' - 5/5.
Always dealt with repairs and issues really quick and the staff are really nice to deal with
They seemed majorly fine with communicating until you question why they want certain data, then they go silent. Eg in renting, they wanted guarantor's NI number, work payroll numbers and bank details which all seem unnecessary (and not needed by the company they use for credit checks, HomeLet), so it's all a bit weird and they wouldn't answer why it was needed after 3 attempts at asking. Just something to be wary of, as it certainly made us uneasy, with the information also not being on their website's privacy notice. Plus even though we didn't add the supplementary information, they still passed the forms on to a landlord in the week we were waiting for a response from them, without them having updated us without our prompting. Not a fun experience when you're searching for a property in a pandemic.
I recently rented a property in Chapel Allerton through Northwood, the viewing process under covid restrictions was impeccable and I felt safe throughout, Nathan was a willing and knowledgable agent who made the process simple, a hassle free experience
Best lettings agent I have worked with. Adam and Tyler made our move completely stress free through their professional but personable manner. They were always on hand to talk to, and really prompt in helping us secure the property, and sorting any questions or queries there after.
Whilst I only have experience as a tenant, I will look to use them in the future if/ when it comes to purchasing/ selling any future properties, as the way the team work shows genuine care and interest in their clients. I would highly recommend using Northwood estate agents, and would like to say Thank You to the whole team!
Highly unprofessional individuals, changed the appointment at the last minute and then lied that they told me in the morning. When ici them over the phone, they harassed and bullied me and also used racial slurs on the basis of my surname. They made me travel in 20 weeks pregnancy all the way from another town 125 miles away and were not the least bit accommodating. Please avoid these people, they treat you like garbage
Northwood Liverpool were very easy to deal with for the two years we were renting from them. They resolved most small issues quickly and professionally. The moving in and out processes went smoothly and I would use northwood again.
I rented with Northwood for years and always found them helpful, fair and quick to resolve any issues which arose. The staff were always friendly and happy to help often going above & beyond to get issues resolved. I would 100% rent with them again if a property came up in the right area.
Landlords were requested by the government and National Residential Landlords Association to show compassion to tenants who are experiencing financial difficulty during lockdown. Despite my student loan falling far short of the rent for my property, and lockdown severely impeding my ability to find the short term work to make up this shortfall, Northwood will accept no alternative payment arrangement to ensure the security I need to not face homelessness when my tenancy ends. I am not even stating that I will not pay the rent in full, just that I need a payment arrangement that allows me to find some security in these precarious times. This is not the first time that Northwood have sought to financially decimate my household by going against government guidelines and law, having sought to charge nearly an additional £500 to the house in admin fees and deposit than what was legal under the tenancy act that came in last year.
Wilfully deaf, uncaring and profit chasing to the very end. DO NOT GO WITH NORTHWOOD THEY WILL HAPPILY THROW STRUGGLING PEOPLE ON THE BONFIRE FOR MARGINAL GAINS. DISGRACEFUL.
Preston Northwood have been letting my property for over 10 years now. They are always responsive, professional and the entire relationship has essentially been hassle-free. At times they have gone 'above and beyond' their duties to ensure all parties are happy. They have always let the property to great tenants with regular inspections, never a problem with payments and always resolved any disputes or requirements quickly. Highly recommended if you aspire to be a hassle-free landlord ;)
I have rented from Northwood Preston for just over two years. I have previously been an estate agent and have significant experience handling lettings so my assessment of Northwood is both personal and professional. They're horrible. They have been my letting agent and landlord, an arrangement that deceives property owners and screws tenants and should be illegal in this country. After more than a year living with a malfunctioning boiler, cold showers and faulty electrics, its clear Northwood is inept and I can confidently say the government should ban these guaranteed rent schemes where the letting agent, acting as the landlord, has no real interest in the property other than collecting rent. While they've sent vendors to make repairs, in some cases they made matters worse. Northwood has never followed up with me to find out if requested repairs were completed satisfactorily. They just don't care about their tenants. Northwood has also been attempting to sell this home for a year and a half and have failed miserably. They significantly overvalued the property and have had less than 10 viewings in a year and a half in a desirable area (the property also sat empty on the rental market for six months before I rented it). In my experience, the Wards, who own this franchise, are demonstrably incompetent, uncaring and unqualified and I have discontinued rent payments and viewings in protest.
Response to Northwood's reply: I can pay the rent so your assumption is completely wrong. As you know, difficulties with a bank transfer were the cause of a prior delay in payment of rent and you were kept well-informed of those circumstances but have decided to be vindictive and cast my delayed payment and my more recent refusal to pay rent in protest in a more nefarious light. Shame on you. I don’t appreciate your slanderous insinuation that I’m a liar. Not surprising coming from you though as you attempted to evict me just prior to the government imposed lockdown in retaliation for negative reviews I posted about the poor quality of your services. You only rescinded the eviction notice when I contacted the owners directly and told them what you were doing. And you expect me to be grateful to you for the reprehensible manner in which you tried to silence criticism? I have been forced to remain in the home due to the pandemic and informed you that I would be leaving at my earliest opportunity making the repair of the boiler and other outstanding issues moot at that point. You've had well over a year to repair the boiler, the electrics, the falling flashing, etc. but have chosen instead to either ignore these issues or try to find the easy way out. As a result, I requested a reduction in my rent payments for the few months I expected to remain in the property as compensation and you not only tried to ignore that request as well but flatly refused to even take it up with the property owner. Communication with you has proven to be useless and a waste of my time so I've stopped. I'm the one who has had to chase you to complete repairs, not the other way round. I approved and cooperated with all viewing requests, sparse though they were, up until the time the pandemic hit. By the way, post-it notes don't cause holes in walls and mine certainly didn't. If you want to continue in this business then I suggest you either focus on doing a better job or get thicker skin. As we've all seen with recent events, if you're in a position of power in a relationship, as Northwood is in this one, and you do nothing, ignore the problems or you make matters worse, then you should expect the unheard to react negatively. I've certainly endured enough cold showers over the past year+ that it should be understandable that my blood is boiling. And, you know, Northwood has never once apologized and that alone should speak volumes about the kind of people they are.
Excellent letting and estate agents. Sold my house in Crewe in no time at all. Professional and very helpful staff in all departments. I'd truly recommend Northwood for either selling your property or letting it out! Can't fault them at all. 5* from me. Thanks Andy & team.
