  1. Check the water pressure in the shower and taps.
  2. Does the toilet flush correctly?
  3. Is there a bathtub? If there isn’t, do you have space to fit one?
  4. How long does it take for hot water to come through the taps and shower?
  5. Measure if your furniture and other possessions can fit in the space available.
  6. Does the paint or wallpaper need replacing?
  7. Are buildings, trees or other things blocking your views?
  8. Are there draughts?
  9. How much storage is there?
  10. How old are the appliances?
  11. Are there stains around the kitchen walls?
  12. How much worktop space is there in the kitchen?
  13. How much storage space is in the kitchen?
  14. Do the kitchen taps work?
  15. How noisy is the general area?
  16. How far away are the shops and supermarkets?
  17. How far away are the schools and nurseries?
  18. Are there transport links within walking distance?
  19. How well maintained are the surrounding properties?
  20. Check the availability of parking.
  21. Find out if a parking permit is required.
  22. Are all the light switches working?
  23. Does the building have a modern fuse board?
  24. Is the boiler relatively new?
  25. Is the loft well insulated?
  26. Ask how much recurring bills might be.
  27. Check for mobile phone reception and internet access.
  28. Ask if any renovation work needs to be done.
  29. Have a look for any pests or bugs that might become an issue in the house and garden.
  30. If you see any recent work, ask why it was done.
