9th Nov 2024 (6 mo. ago)Really disappointing experience. Some of the viewers they sent were a total waste of time - clearly not interested in a property like ours. Communication was non existent unless we got in touch first. That includes when we were clearly not going to make the initial date for exchange. Only thing they managed to do without us telling them to was putting their final bill into our solicitor.

Rob and his wonderful team handled our sale in a highly professional way. Communication was excellent from start to finish. His vast experience enabled us to get the best selling price. He even helped us with our onward purchase negations. Well worth the very reasonable fixed price. We were glad we chose this agency and wouldn’t hesitate using SMART estate agency again.

28th Sep 2024 (7 mo. ago)I don't think my property was in the right value bracket for Stags to make much effort. No offers and very few viewings. Main salesman very rarely returned calls. We had to make suggestions on how to market the property Stags not proactive

They have now acted as selling agents, this took a bit longer than anticipated but Southgate agents have kept us informed and been helpful during the whole process.- This agent doesn't have any reviews

They are very trustworthy and they responded all of our messages immediately until we moved out and they helped us as much as they could. We were very lucky to find them. Thank you for everything.
28th Feb 2025 (11 weeks ago)We have completed our sale of Stover Lodge Guest House today and we absolutely 100% recommend the team at Charles Darrow in Newton Abbot. Both James Sanders and Lyn Milligan have made a potentially stressful transaction hassle free. Initially James was very realistic when we asked him for a valuation of our business and we were happy to let him guide us. We were delighted when we received an offer very close to asking price within a couple of weeks and just five months later we are ready to take on a new project. Of course there were a few bumps in the road but questions and queries were dealt with quickly and we have been able to complete within a timeframe that everyone was happy with. Thank you so very much and we wish you all the very best for the future.

13th May 2022 (3 years ago)I first met Brett a couple of years ago when looking into the student market. I didn't do anything at that time. It was a pleasure to meet Brett again in July 2021 when viewing another property, and subsequently other properties. Brett is generous with his time, doesn't rush you, and tells you the facts as he sees them. I feel he gives his views and advice in a very straightforward manner which is what you want as a buyer or a seller. I would have no hesitation in recommending Brett for his professionalism, friendliness and someone to go to for advice. I have now met the Lettings side of Star and found them extremely helpful as well.
22nd Jul 2024 (9 mo. ago)We rented a McKinley White property for two years as a student couple. We were lucky enough to live in the same block of flats as Graham, with him on the top floor, and us on the bottom. Graham was fantastic - responsive, helpful and understanding. Any time there was ever an issue in the flat, he would be around to check it within half an hour of the email being sent, and if the issue needed external people in, it was usually fixed within the week. He let me into the flat on a number of occasions when I’d locked myself out (oops), often checked around the flat whilst we were away to make sure it was ok, and brought in our post etc. He even held onto packages for us if we were out when the arrived! All in all it has been a great tenant experience.
22nd Mar 2023 (2 years ago)I had a very, very disappointing experience with Star Lettings back in the summer of 2021 – I'd been served with a section 21”no fault eviction” due to an issue with mold in the bathroom floor (which it transpired was caused by a “long term leak under the bath”) I still owe money to southwest water because of this. I'd reported the issue with the moldy bathroom floor to Star Lettings some two years previously. This notice to vacate was on hold throughout lock down due to Government legislation but didn't do much for my peace of mind. In my experience it seemed that the landlord always came first and I lost half my deposit even when I'd cleaned the house as requested though it was difficult given the underlying mold issue that should have been addressed when I raised two years previously. I was also told that the flat would be completely renovated as the landlord planned to turn the place into an AirB&B (which I believe has happened) so I left the place completely empty with a clean up as best as I could (thinking I wouldn't overly invest too much time in it, given the renovation would be going ahead anyway) After moving I contacted Star Lettings about my deposit but Star Lettings tried to withhold my entire deposit, in the end I managed to get back half of this, but not without a struggle. I needed the money as it certainly wasn't easy finding a new flat immediately post lock down

9th May 2025 (5 days ago)Approached House Sales Direct as I was struggling to sell my house (3 bed Semi) with my local estate agent. I received a valuation the same day and signed up. My property was sold within a month! How my existing agent couldn't do this but House Sales Direct could I don't know. Least to say I was over the moon.
4th May 2025 (10 days ago)House went on the market on the Wednesday and sold for asking price on the Saturday.
