16th Jan 2022 (2 years ago)submitted a tenancy application for a home in Barrow. The application asked whether I'd been subject to a Section 21 order. I thought it was an irrelevant question as it had no bearing on ones likelihood to be a good or a bad tenant; however, I answered the question honestly by stating 'no' because I'd only received a Section 21 notice. Only a court can issue an order. Poole Townsend then accused me of lying on the application and it was rejected. In the end, I should be thankful to Poole Townsend because my experience with them caused me to realise that a miserable, economically deprived, unfriendly and uneducated community wasn't the right place for me and that my talents would be better appreciated elsewhere. With estate agents like this it is no wonder Barrow has such a poor reputation.

23rd May 2022 (2 years ago)House was priced too high to start with so had to lower the asking price within 2 weeks and in the 5 weeks we had the house on the market with them we had no interest what so ever whereas other properties on our street were sold within 3 weeks when they were listed with a different estate agent.
4th Aug 2024 (17 weeks ago)We let a house with JH Homes Rachel was fantastic, so helpful, nothing was too much trouble, we then sold through them, it sold quickly they were all helpful and friendly

18th Mar 2024 (8 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

19th Jul 2024 (20 weeks ago)If I could give zero I would, & wished I'd of read the reviews first. Very bad experience initially started good until the figures came in, that was a shocker & way too low I did feel pressured & harassed by calls etc. Felt They wanted an instant descion & gave false information which I checked out with my solicitor, I did get a few apologies about the initial recommended value admitting it was low. What if I had agreed??. Avoid this company and their associates give them a wide berth.
31st Jul 2024 (18 weeks ago)Our overall experience with Bettermove is one of disappointment. They sold a model whereby they would market our property to their pool of investors. Essentially they put our house on Rightmove for a slightly higher price then they said they would pay us and left it there. I had to chase for updates and when they responded it was to say that their investors thought the price was an issue! So why didnt you speak to us about that and say what we thought to reducing. I dont actually think they've got investors, just people who want a cash purchase in certain areas. Fortunately we didn't pay Bettermove any money for their services and we ended the contract as soon as we could
6th Sep 2022 (2 years ago)Habitats - now called Agreed. Really impressed with the concept and overall with the site and process. Very quick to get my property online, booked a floorplan and it was carried out very promptly, house was uploaded to Rightmove and Zoopla in now time and it sold in days (although that's down to market conditions too). Overall really happy although the actual site can be a tad glitchy and perhaps from a buyers point of view a bit more guidance is needed...my FTB struggled a bit. Help function generally very responsive though. Sale hasn't yet completed as we are only a week in but if all continues as it started they will deserve 5 stars and I've saved over £1k in agent fees.

Adam is a genuinely nice guy and this, in combination with his impressive knowledge and expertise, got our house sold (for the full asking price) in less than 3 weeks! Since then, Adam has continued to offer us advice and support and has been an absolute pleasure to work with. We honestly couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend him to anyone!- 6th Nov 2024 (27 days ago)It's my second time using an independent agent. Service was 100 time better. As I don't live near the property they were my eyes and ears. I can fault them

5th Jul 2024 (22 weeks ago)BE VERY CAREFUL!!! Once these lot have your deposit they ignore you. We agreed to buy a buy to let from these and went through the mortgage application with our own agent. We then found out they had overvalued thr property by a fair amount, not allowing us to get a mortgage. We were then told we had to use their mortgage person, which cost us another £300 but we had no option. They also could not get us a mortgage because the value was less than 50k. Upon telling these lot, they are now ignoring our calls, you can't speak to the refund team as only on email, no managers have phones and they won't give us our deposit back even though it states we are entitled to it back for following their stipulations. I'm no being ignored by the salesman Jack and no one will return emails etc. I will be taking this to the Ombudsman too, to highlight this appalling service and blatant overvalued to gain mortgage applicants. They had the same listing on their site for £52,500 and £46,000. We found this after we had agreed a price. So be very careful not to deal with these people. They are rude and have total lack of customer service once they have your deposit. Zero stars from me!!!

Every time we manage to speak to someone on the phone, we’re promised a call back that never happens.
