1. Contract Issues: Madison Brook pressured us into signing the contract and moving in despite the property being unready. The contract was only provided one business day before the move-in date, giving us no time to thoroughly read and review it, especially since it was sent on a Friday, leaving us with insufficient time. To make matters worse, we were only able to collect the keys on Monday, two days after the contract start date.
2. Poor Property Condition: Upon moving in, the property was far from ready. After repeated requests, the walls were finally repainted, and the bathroom door can now be locked. However, the carpet still hasn't been replaced, and several key facilities such as the microwave, sliding door, windows, fridge, and railing remain unrepaired. These unresolved issues have severely affected our living experience.
3. Lack of Move-In Guidance: There was no guidance or explanation provided upon moving in. To this day, we are still struggling to figure out how to handle utility bills and even the details of the suppliers. Although they responded by saying this is not their responsibility, in my six years of living in the UK and having worked in the property industry, I have never encountered such a lack of support.
4. Communication Issues: The internal communication at Madison Brook is extremely poor. Two weeks ago, we were told the carpet would be replaced last week, but today they only came to take measurements, not to replace it. Their inefficient communication throughout the process has led to repeated disappointments.
Additional Note: As tenants, we have been very understanding and even removed some factual reviews in the past. Having worked in the property industry, I am well aware that this situation is in serious violation of UK rental laws.
