I count myself lucky to have been introduced to Lauren Galway when I entered Connells Estate Agents in Bedford. From the very start she was polite, friendly and proactive in helping me find accomodation to rent. After explaining that I was relocating from Ashford, Kent to Bedford for professional reasons and that I needed to rent out a place before the end of the month she went out of her way to make sure I could secure suitable property to rent in minimal time and cost. This was achieved by informing me of a property not yet on the market which meant I was among the first in the queue to visit it. Also, by accepting documents from me in advance to speed up the application process. She also suggested I do a viewing online rather than travel to Bedford to save on time and travel costs. Despite not being on the market a viewing was arranged in just four days! In anticipation of me accepting it post viewing, Lauren had prepared documents to sign. As she rightly expected I signed them immediately after the viewing beginning the application process. In our subsequent communications by email and phone Lauren's response to all my questions and requests was quick and clear ensuring I completed all the required paperwork (homelet reference, holding deposit etc.) as rapidly as possible. This was only possible if Lauren was in regular communication with the landlord advocating my application. There was even a moment of communication breakdown with the landlord due to the latter losing their phone. Lauren went beyond the call of duty by going to the landlord's home address to communicate in person on my behalf! Thanks to Lauren's remarkable efforts I received the good news that I was chosen to rent out the property out of all the other applicants and this within two weeks after the viewing! It was also all done remotely ensuring it was achieved in minimal time and at minimal expense and in an efficient stress-free manner. Thanks to Lauren's professional and friendly customer service skills, not only was my move smooth and stress-free I was also made to feel very welcome in Bedford. I cannot thank nor recommend Lauren enough for her professionalism.... Read more

Absolutely shocking. We booked a valuation for our property in May with Bedford Connells, they turned up half an hour late and the information they gave was just waffle to be honest. We shopped around, was shown round a house by Flitwick Connells and we thought they were excellent; we asked them to value our property instead. That went fine and we signed a contract, the Bedford office got wind of it and their regional manager demanded the property be taken back from Flitwick, they fought for us but ultimately we had to be with the Bedford office. Nevermind what the customer wants. We had 1 viewing, which they turned up about 40 mins early for, this was fine but we needed to get dog and baby out the house. We walked outside to the estate agent showing them round next door's driveway and double garage, so they had no idea what they were selling. 8 weeks into the contract, no further viewings. My husband calls to ask why and they say 'I'm not sure, maybe we should view the property so we know what we're selling.' Joke. They all of a sudden want to book in 3 more viewings, all get cancelled or we never hear back about the viewing time. Almost like they lied to show they're trying. We had enough and asked for them to take our house off the market when the contract ended (about 6 weeks before contract end this was), they immediately sent us a 28 day notice. I emailed back and advised I did say we wanted to be on the market until contract end, no response. I would strongly advise to avoid Bedford Connells if you can. I thought Flitwick were brilliant and all of this could've been avoided if the Bedford regional manager wasn't greedy and demanded our property be with them.... Read more

Our lettings agent Lauren Galway at Conells was absolutely brilliant, the process in gaining the keys to our new flat took only a week, she was available with any query and solving problems for us even on her day off. I’d highly recommend asking for her to conduct any lettings for you as she made what is usually a stressful time so much less stressful. She was also lovely and even once we had the keys and moved in was helping to resolve any issues, without even being asked to. Company is so lucky to have her working there, thank you!... Read more
