We lived in a property operated by Nicola Kennedy Residential, letting. At first, everything was all pleasant until we handed in the notice of termination of our letting contract. The letting agents repeatedly without knowledge or consent accessed the property during the working day whilst we were at work after noticing that doors were left open, lights left on and the property was not in the condition we would tend to leave ourselves. We challenged Nicola Kennedy and they persisted to access the property for photos and viewings without the option of a representative to oversee the protection of personal belongings and valuables. Upon exit of the property, I contacted the Letting protection service to refund our deposit. I was contacted by Riccardo, he claimed that the property was in a unsatisfactory condition listing dust on the skirting board, smudged mirrors which required a cleaning contractor and various repairs including to blinds which were already damaged. He requested that we should pay £170 direct to the letting account and he would refund the whole deposit. We refused this request and claimed the full deposit to get notified that Riccardo had claimed £ 524.72 which was a complete fabrication of invoices. We confined to dispute via the LOS adjudication and thanking the officer ruled in our favour and we received the full reimbursement of deposit. To proposed tenants, please avoid this rogue letting agents. There practices caused a great deal of stress and uncertainty during the time we spent at the property. Ensure you have plenty of evidence photos and videos before and after tenancy to protect your interests. To landlords, have you received direct feedback from tenants? Do you consider the effect that our chosen representatives are acting in an unethical and immoral practices?... Read more
