Worst service we have ever had letting a place. Even makes me wonder if the other reviews are real or it is just than the sales and the letting department are completely different. Problems started even before moving. We were supposed to moved in on the 15th of December. The 4 of us asked for the day off at work to do all the moving. When we arrived at the agency they look at us puzzled as they expected us a couple of days later even if all the emails that THEY sent us the date was clear. Despite agreeing on the move 3 weeks before the actual move, they didn't do the "background check" yet, so we could not move in that day but the day after. Even if you think that that's already a big unprofessional thing, I have to tell you that that was a minor problem compared with the rest. We were shocked by the poor efficiency and communication. When we moved in several things were not right and (Obviously) said that they were going to be fixed in the next few days. Just to mention one, one of the rooms was missing a door handle. Meaning that if the door closes, you couldn't open it from inside. As you can imagine that is a big safety issue and even one day I had to leave work and come to rescue one of my housemates as she got trapped in her room. After several emails, several phone calls, and several trips to the agency. 6 months after the issue was reported we decided to fix it ourselves. The maximum that we got is "We are waiting for a quote". Unbelievable. And that's just to mention two of the problems that we had. Other problems were things like: - The house was not clean when we moved in (Previous tenants left forks, cookware, broken microwave etc...) - We had a broken fridge when we moved in which was replaced with a fridge with half of the capacity (small fridge for 4 people, jokes...). The old fridge was left in the house and the option that they gave us to get rid of that was "Just leave it outside the house and somebody will pick it up at some point" - When we renewed our contract, two tenants signed one copy, and two of the tenants signed another different copy (in the agency) when they realised it... the two first ones had to come back to sign it again.... Wrapping up... it was just a constant feeling of unprofessional behaviour that you don't expect when you are paying a well known company. The things that annoys us the most, it's the difference when you were contacting them at the beginning (really nice emails, quick replies) and when you were contacting them because of big issues (like the door handle) where no answer was the most typical answer. We felt that they always were kind of "blaming" another colleague or part of their company (Bridgfords does not do "house management" officially but they have a company from their group, countrywide which does it for them). And for me that's jokes. You cannot have such a bad communication within your company.... Just to finish the experience as we started it.... it took us 50 days (and.... around 10 phone calls and 5 emails), from leaving the house to finally get them to tell us how much of our deposit they were taking. I would not recommend this to anybody and I wonder if that is actually representative of what Bridgfords is. EDIT: I just wanted to included that after 10 WEEKS of leaving the property they were late for the check out report (10 days was written in our contract, it took them over 3 weeks), and after agreement on the part of the deposit to return so far 35 days have passed when it´s meant to be a maximum of 28 days (And it´s still not in our account). THE DAY AFTER I wrote this, and I emailed customer care I got a call apologizing and with the promise that the whole process was going to be faster. More lies. To sum up this is your perfect choice of letting agent if you want to be chasing people all the time for even the most minimal thing and if you love to be treated really badly.

Unless you want to be lied to, deceived and ripped off then I would completely avoid this company. They never answer their calls and when they eventually do get back to you they lie about offers that they have had on a property to deceive you into buying a property at a higher price. This was proved when my partner put in an offer for a house to which the estate agent told him there had already been 3 other offers at higher prices, my mother then contacted them the next day and asked about the house and they stated that they had only had one offer on the house (my partner's!!) thus proving them liars! there's absolutely no customer care here it is literally all about them getting as much money out of you as they can! I'd go with Bridgefords if I were you, at least they answer the phone.

Just sold our house in Stand Lane. What a great team to have working for you - valuation, viewings and back office - one seamless service. If they played football they would be league champions! Very reasonable price too. Can't recommend Clive Anthony enough.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Absolutely disgusting company. We signed up with Clive Anthony for them to sell our property. We dealt directly with Clive. On the day we had arranged for Clive to come out and take photographs of our property, in order that he could list it on the internet, he failed to turn up. We rang the office and spoke with the receptionist, who, after speaking with Clive, informed us that he was no longer willing to sell the property, as he was "too busy". No further explanation was given to us than this lame excuse, and Clive rudely refused to speak directly with us, like a coward. I asked the receptionist why we had not been informed about this cancellation earlier, as both my partner and I had taken the day off work in order that we could be present when Clive arrived. Through the receptionist, Clive informed us that he had left me a voicemail message on my phone informing me about the cancelled appointment. Whilst on the phone to Clive Anthony, I quickly checked my voicemail messages and noted that indeed I had had a message left by Clive. The only problem was is that he had left a blank message, which I can only assume from his behaviour was intentional, and nothing was mentioned about the cancelled appointment and that he was no longer willing to act for us. Again, Clive refused to speak with us directly and would not give us a proper explanation as to why he is no longer willing to act for us. I can only assume he has some personal reason for this, as I know that since refusing to list our house, he has listed other properties, undermining his excuse that he is "too busy". All I know is that from their behaviour, this company cannot be trusted and I personally will be reporting them and Clive to the Ombudsman for their lack of professionalism, courtesy and obvious prejudices.

Not one bit stressful! I had been putting off moving house for months because the thought of selling and buying another property seemed too stressful. However after filling out a form on the HOME website for a valuation everything just fell into place. The efficient service, the friendly positive staff and the professional approach meant I had my house on the market, a buyer and an offer accepted on my new home in a matter of weeks. I can only thank the team at Home for that as without them I think I would definitely still be viewing houses! Kirsty has been looking after the chain and I am updated regularly with how things are going, no excuses or jargon, just a friendly call, message or email to let me know things are all on track, the communication is faultless. Yes the solicitors can be slow down and there can be the odd hiccup but having Home as my estate agents I know they are working for me and doing everything they can to complete, so there isn’t any need for me to get stressed. I couldn’t recommend them enough!

Started off ok but didn't think much of the service after that, I had to keep ringing them to get updates

Right from the start Chris at Didsbury seemed doggie. Despite me asking for professionals only, he seemed more keen to just throw anyone in the property. Couldn't even provide me with correct info about prospective tenants. Finally when he thought he had it in the bag he took the property off the market on the basis of a deposit he claimed he received, after a viewing. About two weeks later this same prospective tenant told Chris she wanted me to replace a fitted belling oven that was in the property before she paid the first rent because the temperature marks had rubbed off and she wouldnt be able to use the oven. She wanted me to go halves so long as i didn't buy anything to expensive......i began looking around for Jeremy Beadle. Long story short - i told Chris she wasn't going to be suitable. Taking a sledge hammer to crack a nut set off Red Flag alert as a likely nuisance tenant. Chris had acted like he agreed her request was extreme because it involved uninstalling a perfectly working oven, buying a new one, then having it fitted...Approx cost 700 quid. Then visions of her lying in the bed looking for a crack in ceiling and wanting to withhold rent could become a reality. I told Chris she wasn't suitable. His desperation lost its cool and he told me to take my business elsewhere.Make of it of you will....LANDLORDS BEWARE! Chris with the FAKE smile.
