I found the rep, Tom, very approachable and knowledgeable. The price was competitve at 1% inc. vat. They were easily contactable by phone and whoever answered the phone knew about mt sale.
Great small team of people who really care about their customers, not like some of the big Estate Agents. Would definitely recommend to everyone looking for a pleasant and smooth transaction. Sold our property in 1 day and got the keys to the new one 5 weeks later, so can't ask for more!
Outstanding Letting Service.
Very fast, efficient and knowledgeable staff who went the extra mile to work at my convenience. Not only did they find a very suitable tenant in an unexpectedly quick time, their experiencing in the checking of tenant suitability was more than helpful. The staff that helped were helpful, informative and flexible making the whole process stress free. I was so impressed I then listed my other properties with them having previously found the re-letting process with other agents slow and very dissatisfying. They proved on this property also to have everything covered and again proved excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending this well managed team to others.
Diabolical is the only word I can use to describe this estate agent, they do not have a clue what customer service means. Would highly recommend using any other estate agent, rather than William H. Brown. The whole attitude with them seems to be we will get round to it sometime never.
Tara made our viewing of a property smooth and painless.
She was polite, prompt and went out of her way to ensure that we were at ease with what is undoubtedly a daunting experience.
Her professional, friendly and caring manner ensured that our experience was as positive as possible.
I would definitely recommend Tara to anybody looking into a first time property and have no doubt she will be as helpful as she was to us.
Friendly agent, good price. Not to sure on the experience as when asked about the small print struggled to point out what some of the text meant
Thank you to the lovely Evie at Haart for helping us through the process of buying our new home. She was with us every step of the way and couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating. Evie's a real super star!
Absolutely horrific experience with them. So unprofessioanl and rude. Would never recommend.
Having interviewed several estate agents with regard to managing our rental property we settled on Barton's as we took to Ollie straight away and felt a smaller agency would provide a more personal service.
There were minor problems with getting the tenant set up but these were sorted quickly and now nearly 3 months on all is running smoothly. James has also been very helpful in sorting out minor issues. All in all a good experience.
Appreciate this review comes amongst a lot of 5 star reviews but two things: firstly, we would have loved to have the experiences everyone else seems to have had and secondly, our experience is completely legit.
Initially Barton and Co were very personable, very keen to ingratiate themselves, presenting themselves as a tight-knit, homespun antidote to the more cavalier lettings agents that operate in the local area.
However, once we were in our new rental property the communication dried up and we rarely received acknowledgement of our emails from then on in.
Though they did replace our oven quickly when we reported it (they hadn't checked it worked before we moved in) we spent the rest of our tenancy with a radiator hanging off the wall at a 45 degree angle, amongst other issues.
We were misled as to the nature of our landlords as despite being informed that they wanted a professional couple as long-term tenants to look after their property, we were asked to leave the property after a year to vacate for a student let. The landlords wanted more dollar.
After checking, we were informed we had had the opportunity to extend our contract ataan earlier date and it was intimidated that by not doing so we had reneged on the understanding with the landlord.
This was unequivocally not the case, as our emails were never acknowledged and we were never advised of an alternative course of action once we reached the end of our initial tenancy. .
I'm sure it was incompetence rather than malice, but they would not accept any culpability nor would they meet personally to discuss. I've worked in both property maintenance and communications so I found their behaviour galling.
Furthermore, this move derailed our efforts to save for a mortgage deposit as we were forced to waste it on another rental deposit.
Appreciate the above might be a bonus for many buy-to-let landlords in terms of misleading and effectively dispatching tenants when a chance to increase their profits presents itself.
But should the wind change in favour of legislation which actually protects tenants from the debilitating effects of cowboy landlords, outfits like these will be found out.
