24th Oct 2024 (12 weeks ago)We used Carter Jonas in Oxford, England to rent out our property and I was overall very satisfied with the service they provided. I didn´t have to do any chasing as things progressed nicely in a timely manner and they were very good at getting back to me with updates. Their rates were also much better than the other common letting agencies. The only small thing that can be improved is the delay between tenants paying the rent to Carter Jonas and the day it is received by the landlord, if that can be reduced it would further increase the satisfaction. But overall I would recommend Carter Jonas.

23rd Oct 2024 (12 weeks ago)Had a very disappointing experience using Romans as a tenant. At the end of your tenancy you are given the option of getting a professional clean or cleaning the property yourself (note that tenancy agreement states that the property only needs to be returned in the same state of cleanliness that it was in when your tenancy began). Myself and my partner decided to clean the property ourselves and spent an entire weekend deep cleaning the house in order to save on cleaning fees, leaving the property in a superior condition to when we moved in (when the washing machine was full of mould, other parts dirty, prior tenant's possessions left in cupboards, etc.). Despite this we were shocked when Romans asked for £400 in cleaning fees for a professional clean (from a cleaning company based in Portsmouth per the invoice hence why I believe this figure was so substantial), which they completely refused to budge on (I would later find out this was because they'd already contracted the cleaners before we'd had a chance to counter their initial offer of £400). We replied in depth, responding to each and every supposed issue with picture evidence from the start/end of the tenancy which was completely ignored, with Romans simply stating that the property hadn't been professionally cleaned and if we wanted to dispute the charge we'd need to go to an arbitrator of their choice at a cost to ourselves of £120 per our contract. My advice to any tenants is to sort your own professional clean and then the liability is with the cleaners if the property is not up to Romans unrealistic conditions. They will also not ask you for an invoice proving a clean has taken place as we were repeatedly rebuffed when we asked for proof of invoice for a professional clean having taken place prior to the start of our tenancy.Romans - Lower Earley

And also Romans helped me to find other rented property too. Dhruve was taking care of rented side and he's been so helpful too. All over experience definitely deserve 5 stars ?????. Definitely will recommend Romans to friends and family. ????????

2nd Nov 2024 (10 weeks ago)I stayed in a rented property managed by Walmsley and would like to mention that the experience has been excellent. The team is very professional, true to work, transparent and organized. I never faced any challenges during a 30 month stay and would recommend Walmsley to anyone looking for a property in and around Reading. Some names to quote - Beth, Janet...keep doing the great work!!
6th Nov 2024 (10 weeks ago)We did it! Thanks to the team at Parkers, Tilehurst for achieving a successful sale in challenging market conditions. We tried two other local agents beforehand which did not lead to any success (during Truss budget era and oversupply of property periods). The team at Parkers, worked closely with me as a team to progress from marketing, arranging viewings, agreeing price change strategy and completion within 4 months as 2nd time buyers in a small chain. We were able to achieve of aim of using to a 3 bed with spacious driveway and garden ????. Alhamdulillah ????
5th Nov 2024 (10 weeks ago)While the sale of my house in Reading and purchase of new property has been a journey that I would not like to experience again, I can say that not one of the many issues I experienced at a result of my decision to use Prospect. Advertising of the property went very well and finding of a buyer was painless in large part due to the choice of Prospect. Its absolutely disgraceful to how they manipulated us as first year students into thinking they provide good services and initially giving them a 5 star rating. They dont ever meet their promises, saying how they would let me put my boxes in their spare room in the estate as im not local and would be going back to my country during the summer break, how they would trim off the grasses at the lawn and worst of all how they would instantly be at your doorstep to fix any damaged items. This business should not be operating and to new students, please do not finance their unethical and unprofessional services any further!!!

18th Mar 2024 (9 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

2nd Jan 2025 (12 days ago)We had struggled to sell out shared ownership flat for months with Whitenights. We had sold, but the previous chain fell apart. Whitenights found a series of completely unsuitable buyers, causing us to lose the previous property that we were buying. We changed to Sarah & Georgina at Avocado, who were a breath of fresh air. Found us the right buyer- even when a sale fell through again, and went the extra mile at every single step of the way. Such as doing the vetting for Housing solutions up front, to reduce chance of people dropping out. We remain convinced that the only reason we moved is because of Sarah & Georgina's expertise & dedication
