Horts - Northampton

1-5 Bridge Street

Thanks to Horts (Jon Summerly) for his patience whilst we were looking for a property. We cannot thank him enough for all his effort in answering many many questions and especially for having to travel up each time.

Nicola Simmons

Having accepted a bungalow in August 2017, we didn't exchange until March 2018. We feel that we were unfairly treated by their estate agent. The estate agent never gave us measurements, lied to us, never replied to our enquires and was extremely rude. The estate agent we unfortunately had to deal with made our whole experience more stressful then it had to be, we would not recommend the agent in the slightest!

Richard Greener

22 Bridge Street

Amazing and helpful even through a stressful transfer. Maria went above and beyond to get the job done.

Dayle Cassell-Bhangoo

After reading reviews from previous tenants, I should not have gone through with renting a flat with Richard Greener, as my experience sounds very similar! Firstly, the staff were not very friendly. They did not make me feel welcome and did not seem to be concerned when I was reporting issues with the flat. From the day I moved in there were many issues. I reported these many times and the staff made comments such as 'it was fine when I went in last week', instead of being helpful and reassuring. Many issues were never resolved even after many emails. Some issues were only sorted after I explained I could no longer live there and was moving out. At times the staff have been rude and condescending. Nevertheless, my worst experience came when I I moved out. After two days of cleaning with my parents the flat was left in a far better state than when I moved in. I received an email from Richard Greener saying thank you for leaving the flat clean and tidy. However they still continued to take £90 of my deposit for 'cobwebs' and 'dusty lampshades'. They said I could return to the property to sort this out but it would cost £35 for a re-inspection fee. This is crazy considering the estate agents is only a five minute walk from the property. I feel they went in to the property determined to find something to charge me for, as there was nothing worth £90 that needed sorting out. I will never be using Richard Greener again and I would strongly advise against renting a property with them.

W H Brown was a great experience, due to the fact David went above and beyond to get us into our rented accommodation smoothly. Always returned my calls and very happy to help me with any queries. Thank you David and W H Brown for making my move stress free! Debbie Byrnes

Worst letting agency ever - avoid! Incompetent and impolite, no customer service. They want something, it has to happen ASAP. You have an issue - well good luck - be prepared to chase this for weeks until you sort it out yourself in the end.

Contacted multiple times to arrange a viewing, couldn't be bothered to answer calls or emails. Gave up and took my business elsewhere.

Your Move - Hobin Roberts - Northampton

Dukes House,19 Bridge Street,Northampton

Have dealt with Sam Throw for many years as I work as a local mortgage adviser. He is brilliant at looking after his customers and ensuring the integrity of Your Move is upheld. Honestly say if I wanted anyone to sell my house, it would be him and his team.

BEWARE choosing Your Move Hobin Roberts estate agents in Northampton. I hope this review will alert future customers. It is shocking that this behaviour came from director level staff as it shows poor judgement, weak leadership and bad ethics. I was called at home even though my solicitor was dealing with my sale and threatened not once, but twice, by Ian Hobin with debt collectors. His threats had no bearing on the legalities or my solicitors advice to me. His threat was made to cover a fee discrepancy caused by a mistake at his company in their contract with me. I checked before writing this and Ian Hobin as his surname suggests is one of the directors at Your Move Hobin Roberts. Happily as heavily pregnant, with a toddler running about and unpacking my whole household at the time both his calls went unanswered so I have never had to speak to this unpleasant sounding man. I signed the Your Move Hobin Roberts contract which quoted their fee but when my solicitor received their invoice it was for substantially more. My solicitor looked into it and company told us it was their mistake. I told my solicitor and Sam Throw the agent who called me at home to say it was his mistake that I was not able to easily afford to pay for their mistake. I asked my solicitor to check the legal situation. In the meantime Your Move Hobin Roberts informed my solicitor that the correct fee had been quoted on the Memo of Sale document. This was easily checked and was not the case as no fee is mentioned on the memo of sale. Other than this there were other details - Selling my property I had picked a low, very fair price to gain a quick sale but made it clear to their agent, Sam Throw that I could not accept lower than this asking price as else I could not make my home move add up. When I received an offer I was under pressure from the Your Move Hobin Roberts office to accept it by reducing my price. I had to stand firm without their support. The Your Move Hobin Roberts sales fee was not the lowest I received. I had to double check my contract with Your Move Hobin Roberts with Sam Throw before signing it as of all the estate agent companies I dealt with in 2017 this company are the only ones to fill in the multiple agent fees on the client contract that you sign for single agent representation. Your Move Hobin Roberts were also the only agent I dealt with who verbally quotes fees without the VAT. Also I was told by Sam Throw that I was holding up the exchange date which I was told I had given them. Neither of these things were true and the buyer was in fact making more enquiries to my solicitor at the time. From these points I felt the companies behaviour did not reflect that I was their client and not the buyers. (Natasha Palczuk in the resolutions department was very good to deal with. I don’t know how she survives in this terrible professional context but I’d like to give her credit.) I hope this helps other people. I would NEVER use this company again or recommend it. Zero stars.

Recently purchased my property through Edward Knight and dealt with Franco throughout the process. Brilliant service, always around to answer any questions I had and gave me updates when needed.

Viewed a property... estate agent useless... showed ourselves round and he asked if we were going to make an offer. Great job ...

Very helpful in arranging for 3 agents to come around and put their pitch for marketing our property. Having them as an intermediary made the process...

A very good comparison website

A very good comparison website for checking local estate agencies. We used it to check who have sold the most in our area and the results were very useful to us.

It really helped my decision making

There are so many estate agents to choose from but they provided details with the numbers of houses each had sold in my area and which had achieved the asking price which I found most helpful

Mrs Heather Marshall

An amazingly easy way to choose your estate agent with total confidence. I did and among the many found the right one for my house. Speedy, responsive, considerate and effective. Thank you.
