We bought our house through the team. From the start Ben was a breath of fresh air, down to earth but professional. He even gave us some great grilling questions to help us decide on our own agent (even though we were from another area). Then when our offer was accepted, we were passed to Donna who has been engaged, responsive and proactive throughout. Our own estate agents are ok, but they were put to shame by the service we had from Donna. I can honestly say I think our chain would have fallen apart if it wasn’t for her tireless efforts. Donna was logical and calm throughout, which I really valued when our emotions got the better of us. I could not recomend these guys more, there is nothing they could have done better at any point in the process.
My dealing with Maslen goes back a few years as Nick sold my first flat in 2013 and it was a very smooth affair. This time around I didn't have Nick from the word go and it wasn't as good a start but, before long, Nick and Paula this time, recovered my confidence in them by handling a very tricky sale in a tough market condition as the one we're in right now. Nick is a pillar for Maslen and his boss knows it too but my praise and my thanks this time go to Paula as she did all she could, which in this cases is keeping me up to date and reminding all parties of their responsibilities at hand, pushing, chasing and finally completing. A great big thanks to the Team at Maslen !!! I've got nothing more to sell and no longer live in England but, if I will ever come back, I'll be looking you up to get my new home ... Cheers, Fabio
I could not be more pleased with the service I received from this company while buying a house. Throughout the pandemic and lockdown they kept in contact with me, kept me informed, fought my corner and got things done! I always felt listened to and like they understood my frustrations (and generally shared them!) thanks so much Tracy and Tom for all your help.
Myself and 2 more people have rented a house through this agency. The house had multiples stains of mould and nobody came to professionally clean it before we moved in. We did it by ourselves. Landlord and agency couldn't work together. They were dropping in our house without letting us know and lying that they sent us an email but 'maybe it didn't come'. They gave us the option of cleaning our garden when we moved in and then we should keep it tidy or leave it as it is and not to worry about it when we were going to move out. We chose the 2nd option. Obviously by the end of the contract the garden was worst compared with when we moved in but we didn't care as we agreed of not cleaning it from the first place. 1 month before moving out they sent us an email with the pictures of the garden when it was tidy and they were threatening us that we should clean it or they would get money from our deposit. Being students then with a budget in our hands, we were forced to clean it. A lot more happened which ill not waste my time writing.
Hope you became better since then because i am still feeling bad for the people which moved in that house after us.
i found Spencer and his team to be extremely helpful and efficient. they really knew what they were talking about. they achieved a much higher price than we expected and sold my mothers house in less than 1 week. great job and would recommend them to anyone.
Very efficient and proactive agents. Organised viewings for as soon as house went on the market. Brochure produced quickly. Sale achieved within a week!
Continued to stay on top of things as the sale progressed.
I've been a professional landlord for nearly 7 years now. Unfortunately I've had to change agents several times due to them just not prioritizing my needs. I recently left my previous agents & during July & August I embattled with a situation in which not only was I in another continent but I had 2 HMO properties that weren't being managed.
One property had tenants who wanted to extend their tenancy but with 2/5 people being replaced & a deposit which needed transferring etc. Fox & sons kemptown delt with this efficiently & proactively.
The other property became vacant at the end of July. Not only did these tenants not pay their rent but they left my property in an ugly state & I had to pay (with my own money) to put it back to nice state. Molly conducted a viewing the day after my carpenter had gone there to fix everything & days later these same tenants put a deposit down & now I am in the all clear.
I can't really thank you guys enough for helping, especially in such a turbulent time.
AVOID at all costs. I can only go on my own experience, but I would urge anybody against using this company - and specifically this branch. I must stress that this is just my opinion, based solely on what they put me through. But I also cannot stress enough just how BAD MY EXPERIENCE was. They were rude, unhelpful, unprofessional and, frankly, incompetent. I had no idea who to speak to when we had problems. They deflected any responsibility when things went wrong and sided with the landlord on EVERY occasion. They even chased us for rent which had been paid! The idea that they are supposed to be there to help paying tenants is a joke. They effectively acted as a mouthpiece for a landlord who was just as rude and unhelpful, refusing to deal with the most menial problems. Even a phone call was an ordeal, which would invariably result in a confrontation. They also sided with the landlord over a disputed deposit once the tenancy had finished. The tenancy deposit scheme eventually ruled in my favour and returned the deposit, but it went on for far longer than it should have - which was largely down to Fox and Sons. Again, this is just my opinion. But look elsewhere if you can. Their FEES are also extortionate
We've just sold a four bedroom house in Brighton with Knight & Knoxley. From the start they were a cut above the rest.
Their photographer is brilliant and the whole presentation is elegant. She came to our house twice to catch the best lighting. And took the trouble to wait until the road was car free for the front shot. These little things compound to a big difference.
There were lots of potential sticking points during the sale. Most worryingly our buyer's buyer had their London house significantly devalued during the sale process. Mark and Tony remained calm and professional (and un-estate agenty - I mean that as compliment) throughout and skillfully negotiated what could have been a deal-breaking issue.
Selling a house is a stressful time, but it could have been so much harder.
If you're selling in Brighton and want the best sale price and to deal with nice, professional people, I'd highly recommend the excellent Knight & Knoxley.
Was interested in services but lady that worked there came out and told me to move as she dis not want my sort on property. Very rude and judgey Not good customer service!! Go somewhere else!!
