Just awful. Attempted to take extra bogus fees from our deposit which were 'waived' as soon as we said we would contest them. After final deductions were agreed, the deposit was held for a month for no reason despite the fact that the deposit must be returned 10 days after agreement of deductions. During this time I was lied to on two occasions: first when I rang to ask when the deposit would be returned (I was told 30 days) and again when I rang and informed them that they had held the deposit for too long. I was told that they don't have to work to a certain timescale after a deduction amount has been agreed (they do, but clearly Groves don't). When it was finally accepted that they were in the wrong I was patronised and asked to reconfirm my bank details, which I had correctly provided several months earlier, several times and made to check with my bank that a payment was not already processing (ridiculous!).
During the tenancy you could usually rely on maintenance works to be carried out but these often required a lot of chasing and we experienced several month long delays.
Basically just another unprofessional estate agents looking to profit from the naivety of students. Avoid if you can.
