I have been a Lawson Thompson tenant for 4 years. They put a huge amount of care into their properties, not just to meet the minimum standards but to make them genuinely nice to live in. Whenever there were issues with the house they were dealt with swiftly upon reporting them. Alex and James are, unlike some estate agents, extremely nice, reasonable people who are always on hand to talk anything through and be of assistance. The service you’ll receive and the properties you’ll live in are of the highest standards; I could not recommend them highly enough!

I have been renting with Lawson & Thompson for almost a year now, and they have been amazing throughout! They were very helpful when signing the lease and made moving in a very smooth transition, are always very fast at repairing any maintenance issues, and very easy to contact at any time. They are also very friendly and ensure that their tenants are satisfied and have everything they need. All other students whom I know have rented from them said that they were very happy with everything and I can't agree more: I highly recommend them to anyone looking for accommodation in and around St Andrews!

We have had a really positive experience staying at a Lawson and Thompson property for the past two years. A lot of accommodation that caters to students often don’t put as much care into their properties and towards their tenants as they should, but that hasn’t been the case with Lawson and Thompson at all. I will be staying at a Lawson and Thompson property next year as well.

From the beginning we had a good experience with Lawson & Thompson. They were always easy to reach out to and happy to help out. Although the property had some problems at the beginning (mould, which was out of control of the landlord) they provided all the support and contacted builders etc. quickly. Always very friendly and accomodating.

All my previous landlords have always somehow scammed me out of my money or taken out a ridiculous sum from my deposit. These guys have been great at getting repairs done quick, efficiently, and adhering to all of our needs!

The landlords were understanding and helpful (and the loveliest people), any maintenance concerns were swiftly handled and we were never tricked out of any money from our security deposits. I couldn’t fault the house or my experience with L&T.

Utterly fantastic agency found in the heart of St Andrews.
Let me tell you from experience: they understand the demand for housing in this tiny town, yet they NEVER take advantage of it. I found a flat with them for £395 a month. Yes, you read that right. And it is an extremely nice flat, with every amenity you could hope for, and more. And that comes standard.
Have hardly had a hiccup with it, too.
Once, our electric kettle broke.
The next day they lent us one of their own. We received a new one with a week.
One of their agents told me that "we don't have bad properties," and I believe it. An absolutely fantastic and friendly experience letting with them, and I feel quite lucky of the ease with which we secured a property with them for next year.
They are a small agency, but I hope very much for them to grow, because really more people should have the services they offer.
If you have the ability to get with this agency, I highly recommend you take it. I promise you won't regret it. And they do too.

The team are very friendly and the set-up is great for students. What stands them out from other letting agencies in the area is how approachable they are. Any issues we have had have always been responded to quickly and without fuss. They were also very flexible with our lease, letting us keep our things in the flat over the summer holidays.

Fantastic letting agency in all aspects! We've been with them for 3 years in 3 different properties (with a wide range rental price points and locations), and each property has exceeded our expectations. Everyone at Lawson & Thompson is personable, honest, respectful, reply immediately to inquiries, and they are always available-- one early Saturday morning when we had an issue with the washer/dryer they were over in less than 30 minutes to fix it! I would 100% recommend Lawson & Thompson to anyone looking for a letting agency in town.

I have been with Lawson and Thompson for one year know, and they have been a pleasure to let from in every respect. All of the minor issues that have arisen, such as our unique trash pickup, getting desks for the flat, and all other small issues, have been dealt with professionally and very promptly. After letting from another landlord two years ago who was difficult in many ways, my housemate and I have realized that Lawson and Thompson really are one of the best ones out there. We have personally met James, Alex, and Wendy, and they are all nice people. 5/5 would rent from again.

We are renting from Lawson & Thompson for the second time in a row and could not be happier: They are fast to act when we have anything that needs to be done around the house; they are flexible to accommodate for our (sometimes chaotic) student schedules; and Jamie and Alex have a very personable and competent team in place. Lawson & Thompson is the best letting agency in town and their ambition to improve renting in St Andrews is proving successful.

Lawson and Thompson shine brightly against the host of other letting agencies in town. The application process was fair, painless and very quick (they have videos of all of the flats to check out on their website!), as was solidifying everything after the decision had been made. As far as being a tenant goes, any concerns that came up were dealt with extremely quickly and professionally.
These are guys that know what it's like to have to go through the application process and genuinely care about their tenants.
The only negative is that they don't also have properties elsewhere for when I'm finished my time in St Andrews.

I have been letting with Lawson & Thompson for a year now and couldn't be happier! In St Andrews there aren't very many letting agencies and of those few of them are very good. I have heard horror story after horror story but not with Lawson & Thompson. Alex and James are both so on top of everything. They strive everyday to make life for their tenants better and easier. The new online system for reporting problems at their properties is super efficient. I reported a problem and it was fixed within two days. Not only are Lawson & Thompson professional but they are also extremely kind and genuinely care about their landlords, properties, and tenants. Couldn't praise them enough!!

I have been a tenant for two years and couldn't imagine a landlord that is much worse. Important repairs take a very long time and the people are not easy to deal with, it seems to me that all they care about is squeezing as much money out of their tenants as possible

I was a tenant with Lawson Thompson for 2 years in St Andrews. Both Alex and James were very professional and we couldn't have asked for a better letting agent. They were always very helpful, and quick to respond to any questions or issues we had. Despite only being around for a small number of years they are already gaining a very good reputation in St Andrews, and this makes what they have achieved so far even more impressive. I would highly recommend Lawson Thompson as a letting agent, and would be very confident that anyone else would have the same great experience I did.
