Disgusting treatment of tenants. I moved into a mouldy flat, missing many items I was told were included (desk, chair, bin etc) without being given the code to the building. Trying to get the broken floor, drawers, bathroom door, shower etc fixed was a nightmare as Michael uses HOP to manage the property who are even worse. Michael was rude on the phone as if I shouldn’t bother him with the repairs, HOP should do it. They told me Michael had his own handyman to do them. Michael said he’d change letting agent given these (and other issues) and blamed HOP for everything but then came to an agreement and they still run it. The one star awarded comes from the fact that the handyman was friendly, repaired most things and not all jobs took as long as they did in the beginning. However, at the end of my tenancy, HOP told me that the landlord wanted £135 for cleaning, claiming that £80 of this was for an oven clean (please search how much an oven clean is to get an idea for how ridiculous this is) so I contacted the current tenant who told me the oven had not been cleaned. Yet another example of a landlord lying to young professionals in their accommodation to get money from them. Furthermore, Michael tried to charge me £20 for rubbish removal. Not only was there no rubbish, the supposed rubbish I was told about after enquiring was a fan, cleaning products under the sink and grey shelving that I left for the tenant. They were not thrown away by the landlord or letting agent, proving that it was not rubbish, and they actually added these items (the grey shelving) and my bin to the inventory, claiming the items as theirs having accused me of leaving rubbish. Please find alternative landlords who do not treat you like a silly child whose money is his to keep after a year of providing accommodation well below the promised and expected level as advertised and claimed during viewings.... My dad booked a viewing the other day, he doesn't drive so had to walk about 3 miles, he was told to ring 10 mins before he got there so he did but no answer. He got to the property rang another 3 times but still no answer. After waiting 30 minutes and another unanswered call decided to walk back home. Still no call back to apologise or an explanation.
