I used Pennine Kennedy for a new build conveyance last year and my experience was absolutely awful.
They made a significant mistake in their memorandum of advice.
Their negligence on the matter has caused me to lose almost £70k. I found that they are unresponsive when you need legal counsel the most, perhaps because of high staff turnover and because they take on too many matters.
What is even more disrespectful and a wonton breach of their duty of care to clients is that I raise a complaint in January and still have not received a response. They keep stalling me.
I am now taking it up with SRA, Legal Ombudsman, and lawyers.
If I were doing it again, I would use a conveyancer that comes recommended by an impartial party (not real estate agents that refer work to them) and has the capacity to handle the conveyance with the care it deserves.

My purchase of a new built in West Ealing became an abysmal disaster (completion delayed 3 times and 1st solicitors firm closed down after contract exchange and the next escalated agreed pricing after we signed the agreement and threatened not to give us back the contract without paying additional cost) but luckily I was introduced by my friend to Adrian of Pennie Kennedy who not only recovered my loss and deposit from the developer but also given me professional opinion and practical advice on how I should proceed with my case and next step. He’s very neutral and won’t give us over optimistic advice so we can evaluate what’s the best approach for us to ensure possible damage to the minimum. Without Adrian’s help I’ll probably still be stranded as I write and forever have a bad impression on the whole U.K. legal industry… thanks a lot for your help and service and i sincerely recommend this firm and Adrian to whoever needs help in conveyance matters.

"I would strongly advise you to use a local solicitor for house sale"...so spake our estate agents in Warwick. Thank god, I didn't heed that advice and instead approached Kathryn at Pennine, 120 miles away in Manchester. The personal service, efficiency and professionalism was exemplary; Kathryn really stood my corner against 'assertive' agents and executed all legal aspects with minimum of fuss (and another very important point...monies were distributed instantly on legal completion). Consequently, this firm is now my 'solicitors of choice' for all matters.
