Beware - LDG Letting Agents in Foley St LDG Letting Agents in Foley St. London claim on their website to be award winning and to have their main priority as the well-being of their customers. “We focus on the needs of our customers” I would like to share our experience so far with any would-be tenants looking to rent a property through LDG. We agreed a let of a 3Bed Marylebone Apartment - the outgoing tenants left the place needing many repairs including broken furniture, badly stained carpet, marked walls and windows, there’s quite a list. Of course the Letting Agent’s responsibility is to make good all the damage in preparation for the new tenant (that’s us!) and charge the outgoing tenant for the work from his deposit. Standard practice. You’d think that would be straight forward and standards would be upheld - you’d think as a leading London Letting Agent, LDG would ensure the apartment was in a fit and proper state for the new tenant. They have failed spectacularly at this basic responsibility, sending this response to our complaint “ the carpets were shampoo cleaned, however, the stains are irremovable. The scuff marks on the walls and the furniture were present during your viewing. As this was not part of your offer requirement we are unable to carry any work out without the landlord’s authorisation. As per the inventory report, the clerk has deemed the property has been cleaned to a professional standard.” Well if you could see the state of the apartment they expect us to move in to - you would never choose to let from this Agent. Surely they must have deducted the cost of repairs from the outgoing tenant? We can only assume they or the Landlord are either trying to profiteer by not spending these funds to make good - or they are just incompetent. You can imagine the cost of renting a 3Bed in Marylebone so you wouldn’t expect to receive this treatment or service. They are saying they are looking into this issue and will come back to us today so let’s see what happens - you would not accept the carpet in its current state or any of the dangerous, broken furniture - you would have to paint the whole apartment and clean properly all the windows to remove al the marks. Keep you posted - at this point, the jury are out. BETTER NEWS! The COO of LDG called me in the afternoon following our complaint and negative review and we discussed our situation. She seemed naturally surprised that this type of thing could happen as there are many positive reviews on Google about LDG. The COO is looking into matters for us and has promised to come back to me - she’s not sure when but at some point. The main issue here is how could the catalogue of events have occurred where LDG staff or paid external bodies think it’s acceptable handing over an apartment in this condition? Meanwhile we’ve had the keys for 5 days now and we still can’t move in because most of the furniture is broken and dangerous, and of course the carpet damaged. We’ve spent 4 days painting & cleaning, having taps, locks and leaks fixed. Can’t work oven because control knob missing. All broken for us to move in!! Awaiting the response from the LDG COO... Of the many, many (many) estate agents with whom I worked while trying find a flat to rent, Emlyn was the kindest and most respectful. He listened to all of my requirements and got a sense for the type of property I wanted, which allowed him to send me listings that I was actually interested in seeing. Had to sack the LDG lettings team this autumn 2020 as they were marketing our flat to rent for over 8 weeks with barely any viewings, feedback or updates. You can’t use Covid continually as an excuse if the LDG lettings team never answered my emails or text messages. Very unprofessional and definitely not value for money. I cannot recommend LDG. Bigger is not better. Waste of time.... Read more

We stayed at 59 Great titchfield road apartment. The apartment was great! Amazing location just minutes away from everything but also in a quiet location. Bed was comfortable. The sofa bed was small so probably sleeps more 2-3 people comfortably but no more. Had a problem with the washing machine as had to do a wash but Andrey came round promptly on the Sunday night straight away to fix it as I had a flight early Monday morning. Nice bars and restaurants literally right next door. Would highly recommend it... Read more
