I felt that it was rather unfair to charge an outrageously high fee for finding an unreliable potential purchaser, one who dropped out a week after making an offer (for no good reason) causing us as sellers, considerable inconvenience. It could be argued that it was your fault for failing to recognise that this was an unreliable client.
Also, should not some allowance have been made for the fact that you did not find the eventual purchaser? The purchaser did not know that you were advertising the property, but was informed by a friend of ours who was also their relative. You did not even have to show them round the house on the two occasions that they visited.... Read more
