Terrible service. I’m an international student and this people didn’t help at all. The washroom of the apartment I moved into needed to be fixed. The bathroom floor was damp and was on the verge of collapsing and the drainage was also blocked. It was a nightmare honestly. There was a massive hole behind the toilet seat from which a mice got in the apartment once. I contacted them and it took them a month to fix the washroom. I had to stay with my relatives far from university. The rent is so high but very poor service provided which is bad. Please double check the place before forming a contract with this agency.... Casual thieves. Nightmare when you move out. They try to steal money from you by all means and they can do it because a lot of international students are not familiar with the laws. Please, to everyone that is struggling getting money from them, use the Deposit Protection Scheme dispute and remember they can only take money for things that you have broken. No admin fees should be taken from your deposit, or cleaner or anything of this sort. Check government info if unsure of anything, and I wish you luck dealing with these venomous people. Terrible. Rented from them for 2 years and I have never seen such an unprofessional agency. Our heater was broken in November and we kept calling them everyday and they took a whole month to fix it. Engineers would should up unannounced and very early AND with their own key. I got home one time and all the lights were on because one of their engineers was there fixing something...without permission.Washing machine broke twice. A friend of mine lived on the ground floor and his window was smashed by a burglar and the agency was actually mad at him for putting up some wood panels as a temporary solution. 0/10 would not recommend!... Would never rent from them again, would not recommend to anyone. We had a house of theirs for our second year of uni they were aweful. Before we had even moved in we discovered that they had signed the contract for 2 groups of people which they denied and meant that the other group had to fight to get their deposits back. The house was in poor shape (really really dirty) and had problems with mice and rats. We tried to contact the agency several times after moving in before they even acknowledged our attempts let alone do anything about it. They would arrange house viewings and not let us know, appear in the house at 8am when some of us were asleep. They took ages to return the deposit and stole our Virgin WiFi router which meant we had to pay a fee for not returning it when we moved out.... Read more

Worst lettings agency EVER! Renting filthy houses and when you leave, although you clean the house properly, they try to charge you cleaning fees. They have no idea whatsoever what customer service is. When you call, they are rude and dismissive and when you go to their office they display a complete LACK of professionalism: think employees being on the phone discussing personal matters before assisting you, parading around the office in unprofessional attire and prioritizing everything else BUT your issues. If you contact them with regards to any issues to the property they fail to communicate this to the landlord and you are stuck in a neverending circle of phonecalls and visits to their office.... Do not use! While now they can't legally charge agency and checkout fees (the latter of which were £60 each, were non-negotiable and were taken from our deposit), they are incredibly rude. They took 2 months to return our deposits, did not provide us a breakdown of charges until we called to ask where it was, and charged us for three identical cheap beds breaking in exactly the same way implying we had done this on purpose and that they were all fit for use. None of us are particularly heavy people. We also found the house in a filthy state and I personally cleaned it top to bottom returning the keys with the house in much cleaner state than it was found. Viewings are very intrusive. If took ages for any maintenance we needed doing to be done. My room had a storage cupboard with a hatch to the loft in it and several times, I had to move all of my work equipment in and out so they could install insulation and then survey it IN APRIL.... WORST ESTATE AGENT IN COVENTRY. Never use these guys. Not professionals and just after their profits and and commission money. Paid them for fully managed service plus rent guarantee but they never inspected my property and they let it to someone they personally knew who messed my property up and now I have to pay for all the damages they have done(I can put before and after let pics). Tenant left without paying the rent and they just released the deposit saying all the damages and garden mess and big carpets they left in the garden are something called TLC. Very disappointed and will never use bluewood for anything ever in future.... Read more

The worst agency in Coventry. We paid admission fee for a alternative property which we had viewed only to be told it’s been sold by the landlord. We were told the property we will be given is exactly the same as the one we viewed therefore we didn’t view the property. There was cracks in the house when we arrived with doors off the hinges as if there had been a burglary before. No attempt to fix the property before arrival. Damp was everywhere from ceiling to walls. Heating didn’t work properly alongside with the oven. The cracks gave way for mice which was a problem from the beginning of moving in to the end. When confronted with the mice infestation there was a refusal to provide alternative property. Very slow service. If you are looking for a property in Coventry especially as a student, save yourself the hassle and find another agency as they do not treat their tenants with the due respect... Read more

Like a vast majority of the other reviewers, a terrible experience for myself and my housemates. We thought it would be fine going with a poorly rated agency if it's for a cheap, shared house, but nope. The place was never cleaned prior to moving in, as well as falling apart, and call-outs for repairs took getting the council to threaten them with fines; things still didn't get fully repaired, and they even fly-tipped rubbish which was left in the garden at the start of the tenancy over the back of our fence, leading the council to accuse us for the mess. Also, the proceedings for getting back the deposit involve jumping through so many hoops that it is blatantly designed to be as awkward as possible. Overall, terrible service, and indifferent staff. Landlord was non-existent, and the place itself was a mess. Run while you can, folks. Don't do what we did; people take their time to write detailed reviews for a reason, and it's to spare you the headache we went through.... Read more

My friends and I were organising a house through bluewoods, we had put down our deposit and application fees, as well as all paperwork needed, we thought the house was ours. Then more than 10 weeks later they contacted us saying that we cannot have the house anymore due to a mistake that the landlord and bluewoods have made... Now its getting close to the start of Uni and there are no good houses on the market, they didn't think to tell us any sooner? To make it up to us they tried showing us some new properties that were on the market, which were absolutely horrendous (walls covered in mold) , I asked for a full refund because I didn't think they deserved a single penny, I would highly recommend you NOT to get a house with this agency unless you want an estate agents that is far from professional. I wish google let me give a 0 star because that's what they deserve, bluewoods you need to sort it out!... Read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would. What a disgusting estate agents. First all off we were shown around a property which wasn’t even the correct one on Northumberland road, the house stunk of cannabis and the flooring was disgusting this estate agent should be doing regular inspections (clearly not) as it’s horrible. Also I have just spoken to the supposedly manager of the estate agent Neil who’s customer service skills for a manager were terrible! Also put the phone down on me. If you are a landlord avoid using this estate agent at all costs I know why you have a 1.9 star review appauling service won’t be long until you go out of business. LANDLORDS AVOID at all costs !!!! Having worked with many estate agents across the West Midlands this is the worst!!! You really need to start training your staff and your “managers” Neil for that matter.... Read more

If I could, I wouldn't have even given one star. One thing they should be known for is 'False promises'. Over the phone, they will tell you that ill email you tomorrow. Never have they replied to email queries. They chewed 70% of our deposit. If you happen to choose them as your letting agency, know that you've lost your deposit, However, clean your house is. Avoid, avoid, avoid at all costs!!! I was with them in my first and third year at uni. Absolutely appalling service! Very unreliable and unhelpful! Like people have said below here, they're only there when they need money from you, but don't do anything when you have a problem with the property. Both times we had left the houses in better condition than when we moved in, and both times we got 120 pounds (each!!!) deducted from our deposits, for ''cleaning services'', for which no substantiating evidence or reasonable explanation was provided! Not to mention we had to wait for the rest of our deposits for over 2 months, after they promised we'll get it back after up to 10 days from moving out!!! When you speak to them on the phone they put you on hold for ages just to come back and brush you off with a few quick sentences and then hang up, without even giving you a chance to say anything. They rely on that strategy with foreign students who go home for the summer and can't turn up and argue face to face.And don't even dream of getting a reply to an e-mail... I honestly don't understand how they are still in business, given the ratings they have and what other people have said about their experience with Bluewood, which are quite similar to mine! The worst, most unreliable and deceitful company I have ever had to deal with. My tenancy (2 bed apartment) was meant to begin in July and I was not going to move in until September. I told Binder to let the property out for July and August so that it won't sit empty and myself and my mate wouldn't be paying £800 each for nothing. He listened to what I said (for once) and he managed to let out the property... but he did not let us know! I called him a couple of days before the 1st of July to pay the rent and he gave me the bank details, at this point he had already got a tenant in. I then found out from another agent and called him again and he made it out like he forgot. Anyway, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Moving onto the day I moved in. He said the property would be ready at 1pm. I arrived and he said the cleaners were still there and it would be ready at 3pm. I came back and it still wasn't done. So I went to the property myself with him and it was in one of the worst states I have seen a property. Dirty floors, dirty stained walls, broken window, broken cupboard, broken bed, rubbish everywhere, rotting food in the fridge, rotten meat in the freezer (I assume the electric was off) and nasty mould in the shower. It took until 5:30pm to have it just about liveable. Not spotless. Throughout the year there were issues with the property such as broken blinds in the living room and kitchen which I had to remind them multiple times and guess what, were never fixed! Most of the bulbs in the property were not working, including the one in the fridge! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry tbh. They then expected me to go out of my way and buy all the bulbs and bring the receipts TO them and they would reimburse me. So... that extortionate agency fee came in handy (!) Bluewood Lettings are quick to take your money but are nowhere to be seen when it comes to returning. At the end of the tenancy, we left the property in a much better condition than when we received it. However, these dodgy agents deducted £120 from our deposit for "general cleaning". £120!! So when I phoned up and asked for the company name and got the receipt they could not provide it. We also received the deposit a month late. Many people have fallen victim to their greedy, unethical ways. And it's sad to see many fellow students lose money unnecessarily. I will be taking legal action against this dodgy estate agency.... I had a property with this agent for almost 9 years at first they were great, rent on time ,kept clean, utility bills, and the rent paid on time however the last 3 /4 years absolutely terrible . The tenants use to pay the rent on time every month in to bluewood''s account but then bluewood would always delay the payment going into my bank account by sometimes by up to 2/3 weeks after DECUTUING there 10% fee's .I now have let the house out to another rival letting agent who are doing a wonderful job and treating me like a landlord should be treated . I'M having to deal with the council for non payment of council tax whilst bluewood was in charge of the house and they are refusing to send me any letting contracts or help in any way even though they have been taking 10% off the rent for the last 9 year 's ....... Horrible and totally unreliable!!!!, i rented a property with them, which was given to me in a very very bad condition, the previous tenants clothes were not out of washing machine, the half cooked food was left in the stove and sink was with vessels, half drank alcohol and glasses were lying around and the property was full of pet's hair, totally in a horrible condition. I have photo proofs for everything, which i have shared to them as well. When complained to Arun, he replied that, we can leave if we do not want to stay but the amount paid to the agent cannot be returned, that was around 400 pounds. I still have the message he sent to me. The heating system was not working and had to make multiple calls for someone to attend. The advance amount paid to Arun and Jazz, 200 quids were never returned for the temporary accommodation even after following for more than a year, i have sent messages and called Jazz more than 100 times and he don't want to return the money.The property was in disastrous condition, the carpets were quite bad and the walls are full of moulds and water dripping out of it, i had to take this property since i had no other choice at that time and was in dire need of a place to stay. My stay in their property was horrible and never want anybody to go through this. Even after all this, i have cleaned the property to the best. Totally unreliable.... Read more

Avoid at all costs! Rented for 2 years the same property with Bluewood and they always had the worst attitude when it came to fixing and repairing anything. At the end of the tenancy they had the nerves of retaining £120 out of the deposit for cleaning although they couldn't provide us with the receipts for the cleaning company that ' supposedly ' cleaned the property. We made a claim through TDS and we received our money back so I am writing this review to let everyone know that you shouldn't get intimidated by their attitude as there are free legal routes that you can follow to recover all the so called retaining fees unjustified by Bluewood. And don't believe the 5 stars reviews, they all seem to be fake accounts as most of the names are British whilst most of their customers are international or European students.... Read more

The only agency I have ever used that genuinely care about the tenants. Jake was really nice, showed us round the property and really helped us to decide. The service was very efficient, we viewed the property on a Tuesday and moved in on the Friday, their admin team was very quick, and Andi is very quick to respond to queries and answered in a very knowledgeable way about my questions. Their admin fees were very reasonable compared to other quotes I had received from agents in the area that seemed to want to charge for everything under the sun. My husband and I have been thoroughly impressed by the lettings service provided. From the very first meeting we found them incredibly professional and helpful; details such as the pack they produced which was tailored to our property/street as well the confidence they demonstrated in our property, not to mention the competitive up front rates made it an easy decision for us to choose them. They were exceptionally quick to respond to any queries and, unlike the feeling we got with some other agencies, were completely transparent. We also really felt they were willing to go above and beyond - always offering to come and pick up documents personally to save me a trip. Having chosen them, this service continued and our property was let within 2 working days of having photographs taken and going to market. I contacted Bluewood when I wanted to find a new tenant for my rental property. I found them to be thorough, professional and courteous. Within a few days of the property going to market we had an offer of the full rental price from a superb tenant. I found their fees to be very competitive, I was extremely happy with the service I have received and 6 months on from my new tenant moving in I am still completely satisfied with the service Bluewood continue to provide and they have just asked if we can renew with the same tenant for another 12 months. A well run agency this – definitely the best I have used. They manage my properties faultlessly by finding decent tenants and taking sensible decisions when issues arise. Too often elsewhere I need to manage the agent as the agent manages my property. It helps that the owners are also landlords themselves so they know what a landlord wants and they have the trades people with them to get the job done. I often visit their office to discuss my properties and they always seem to have a good flow of tenants looking and I think that this team deserve credit for their hard work in what is often a thankless task.... This is the fourth house that we have let out through Bluewood because we have been so impressed with the service they offer to us as landlords. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and they quickly get onto things that need to be dealt with. They are very thorough and efficient. Crucially, they have never struggled to find tenants for us which means the properties have never been vacant for long. Although I have been using agents to manage my portfolio for a long time the team as Bluewood have been the best I have come across and I am absolutely satisfied with all aspects of their letting service.... Extremely happy with my experience with Bluewood. Very thorough and reliable and rented the property quickly and with no problems. Paperwork was taken care of in a quick and efficient manner and the level of service was achieved above the level I was aiming for. Overall very happy throughout the tenancy, even though there were a couple of maintenance calls that needed to be made these were both dealt with promptly by their builder who fixed it within a couple of days of being reported. No worries at the end with my deposit as this was refunded after I filled in the paperwork within a few days. horrifying experience. I have been staying with these guys for 3 years and I had of the worst property ever. I cleaned it mysefl when I got there and did my best to keep it in a perfect condition for 3 years and I even improved it in some way because I had to bring a new bed in the property. After all these they still ripped me off at the end of my contract by witholding £120 of our deposit for "cleaning" when the property was in a far better condition than we got from them. In these 3 years there have been no repairs carried on in the property and the only two times we asked for something (a cook and a washing machine) they took ages to respond and brought 2 filthy things that we had to clean ourselves. Your first visit is the only helpful visit to Bluewood. Since we moved in to the house we realised that once the contract is signed the staff only really care about money. Whenever we called for something that needed to be fixed, we were told that they would "contact the landlord" and we wouldn't hear from the landlord until 2 weeks later after which we'd have to wait another 2 weeks for someone to actually arrive at the house. Otherwise their answer would be "it's in the contract" do it yourself - they wouldn't even give a kind suggestion for guidance. In fact every time we called the office, the female staff members never seemed to know the answer for anything and would keep us waiting on the phone while they asked someone else. In terms of finance, they take a ridiculously large amount of money just for admin fee (especially considering we are students) and an equally large amount for the first payment ( the first payment is deposit and first month's rent even if you're not planning to move in straight away) - we were too naïve to think that this was ok. The house wasn't even clean when we moved in, there were broken lightbulbs, blinds, bathroom sink, and skirting boards (not to mention the horrible toilet that didn't flush properly.) When we showed them pictures they just said "that's how the house is..." At the end of the tenancy we asked for the deposit money back and we had to fill in forms signing that a £60 fee would be deducted for cleaning (ironic because we cleaned the house when we moved in - not them. And probably left it in a better state it was in whilst leaving too) When we were a bit outraged they quickly switched to suggesting that it was an admin fee for paperwork and such as we're leaving. (Oh hello, another admin fee...) Surprise surprise a month later we're still waiting for the money to be refunded. Don't know if they treat all their tenants like this but one things for sure - Bluewood are not student friendly and they pretty much suck :) --- update, they're trying to charge us for not cleaning HA HA, Don't go to Bluewood.... Dealing with Bluewood has been a disaster from start to finish. We had paid a summer retainer where we were allowed to put our stuff in the Property over July and August before we lived in it from September. When we went to collect the keys we were told that the Landlord had them (even though they were expecting us), so we had to wait two hours for the Landlord to bring them. Once we finally got into the Property it was absolutely disgusting! The promised cleaners had definitely NOT been in. The previous tenants had trashed the place. All light fittings were broken, the smoke alarms were hanging off, doors were broken and carpets / walls stained with spillages and god knows what! It took so much fighting with Bluewood for them to finally get the house fixed to a liveable standard and "professionally" cleaned, but we were left with gaping holes in our lounge ceiling throughout the tenancy which Bluewood promised to fill in in 2014 and by June 2016 still hadn't gotten around to it! So the end of our tenancy came. Handed the keys in a few weeks early. Have since been promised our deposit would be in our bank accounts within a few days FIVE times and the money still hasn't arrived! Absolutely appalling. Never got back to me with questions i had for my landlord. In the end I had to contact my landlord directly which luckily my neighbour had the details. I have 2 children aged 2 years and 5 months. The boiler packed in a few months ago (winter) on a Sunday and I hate to think what I would have done if I didn't have direct contact with my landlord. They only seem bothered up to when they receive your deposit and rent each month. Go elsewhere!!... Read more

Rented with Bluewood for 2 years while at uni and I have to say I never had a problem with them. Any maintenance issue I had got sorted. Sure, sometimes it would take a couple of days to get it done which is understandable, but the guys in the office were always so nice and helpful. Also I got my deposit back when I left, minus £60 which I think it's okay given some damage was done over the course of 2 years. ... Read more

I recommended Bluewood Letting to some friends of mine for student accommodation. The service they received throughout the tenancy was excellent. Whenever something stopped working they would call in and within 24 hours the repairs would be done. I have noticed some comments about deposit this was not the case as they received their deposit as promised. They made sure the property was as clean and tidy as when they moved in so within 14 days had their deposit back. I could not recommend them highly enough. Excellent service and friendly staff....
