My partner and I recently viewed a flat with your estate agent in Hawick. 14/4 Croft Road Hawick. The viewing was with Harvey Sandu and the property wasn't even on the market when we viewed it two weeks ago. The shower wasn't even installed yet regardless of that we liked it and decided to proceed with our application. We had all our paperwork sent on time, including references from borders council stating my partner was starting a teaching job there on the 16th August. We've had to wait a week on the landlord making a decision and chasing it up to find out there was another applicant? How did that happen? If it wasn't on the market, we saw it first and started our application for it. No one else should have seen the place if it hadn't even been put on the market yet. That doesn't seem right or fair to me. So you've obviously shown someone else it after we had applied. Catford can't be trusted. We wasted so much time and now only have 2 and half weeks to find somewhere else to live. So thanks for that. We feel really let down with the whole process. By Catford, your lack of communication with us and the landlord taking too much time to decide on choosing an applicant (then not telling us) all because the other applicant wants to stay 2 years instead of just 1. We might have stayed longer if my partner is offered permanent employment at Selkirk high. You can pass this onto the landlord of the property too. This is people's lives don't keep them waiting forever while you make a decision especially when we have lots to sort out on our end. It's too short notice.... Read more

When i came to Hawick i was living with a friend and it got to the point i needed a flat of my own that night. Another friend walked me over to Catford and that night they had already sorted me out a nice place. Anytime ive had a problem all i had to do was call them and it was taken care of in a very reasonable time frame. I would highly recommend a flat through them. I’ve not used their service directly however have had lots of problems indirectly from this company. Firstly from the tenants in flat above, had to go through a noise complaint with council. Those tenants have moved on, now the flats currently being renovated, with more laminated flooring despite a previous noise complaint! Their contractors have worked all through lockdown and work past normal business hours. Usually blocks access to my house and has potentially shut off the power to the lights in home! Myself and neighbours have complained about the garden and it’s never been looked at. Absolute bain off our lives!... Read more

Avoid! I can speak from landlord perspective. Had a few properties with them in the past. This company thinks only about their own profit. On number of occasions when tennant failed to pay rent they didn't bother to let me know and only after my email they decided to do something about it. None of my tennants lasted long in the same peoperty- its another way they can make money to charge you an extra fee for finding a new tennant. Communication is appalling. Complete lack of professionalism. Save yourself a hassle and go with someone else!... Read more
