So HPS told us that the house we rent out required renovations. And they asked us to provide a Deposit for their Contractors. Then they told us that their Contractors were too busy to do the work. But the Deposit was returned less several hundred pounds. Supposedly for an Electrician, who we had not asked for and who did not do anything. Just supplied paperwork, which we did not require. Whenever we subsequently telephoned HPS the staff responsible were always unavailable to speak with us. So we submitted a complaint following the stated HPS Complaints Procedure and never receive any response. Awful.... Read more

Really frustrating renting a property through Hammond :( takes weeks to hear back at times and have to chase both members of the lettings team to get a response. This has happened several times since moving in 6 months ago and hasn’t improved. I understand they’re busy but unless you chase a few times you don’t get an answer at all. It’s a shame because we love our house aside from issues getting things looked at.... Read more

We recently sold our house in Bingham and we chose Hammond Propert Services as the selling agents. Our sale was not straight forward with many problems along the way and it was a very stressful time for us. Without the dedication, hard work, determination and support of Charlotte in the office I don't think think the sale would have completed. We've moved 3 times in the last 10 years and Hammonds have, by far, been the best estate agents we've used. They originally sold our house in Whatton to us and were very responsive and proactive when it came to tardy solicitors. As a result we used them when it came to sell, a few years later. What impressed us originally was the know ledge of the local housing market. This enabled us to market our home at a great price and sell it quickly. At every step, all of the staff were helpful, friendly and encouraging. Their aim was to make to process as stress free as possible. My only quibble is that I now know how good estate agents can be and I hope our next ones (we've moved out of the area by around 700 miles otherwise it'd be Hammonds without question!)... Read more

By far the worst agent I've ever had the displeasure of renting from. I've had numerous issues over the last 3 years renting a property from them. When I first moved in, there was a water leak, heating didn't work and the electricity sparked when you plugged anything in. I had to live with my mum for several weeks because my rental property was not safe to live in. 3 years on I'm still left with a dodgy boiler and expected to relight it myself everytime it cuts out. This is amongst other electrical issues and a rusty balcony. They also have no respect for disabled people and had the nerve to tell me I may not be a suitable tenant due to my disabilities!!... Hammond property service are very good on first impressions but that's as far as they go. Communitation are slow and not efficient. I rent a property and left it in great condition, better then when I got in, Hammond property service try to keep the majority of my deposit I had dispute they request with the inventory, pictures and emails and the agency decided to stop communicating. This was 8 months ago. I now have to go to a solicitor and pay for a letter to ask the agency to respond to the DPS to dispute my request further or release the remain of my deposit. If you rent from Hammond property service make sure you go through the inventory properly and send any picture disputing anything that you don't agree on the inventory and don't expect to have your deposit quick and without a fight.... Hammond Property Services are a fantastic letting agents. I work in the industry and know some of the nightmares that people experience on a daily basis. Throughout the whole process Hammond have been consistently great with their communication, promptness on any maintenance in the property and really helpful when i needed to move out early due to a change in circumstances and to top it all off called me the afternoon after my tenancy ended with a full return of my deposit and processed it straight away. Owning my own estate agency in Essex I am probably the most critical and demanding client any agent could have. We needed to sell my late father-in-laws flat in Bingham and as we were so far away needed to find an agent that we could trust implicitly and provide regular communication and updates. We met with 4 of the agents in Bingham and Jonathan was by far the most knowledgeable of them all. He also listened to what we wanted, whereas the others only seemed interest in ensuring they completed their pre-scripted sales pitch. It is very easy to choose an estate agent based on fee or valuation alone as the general perception is that ALL AGENTS ARE THE SAME and as long as they advertise on Rightmove it does not matter what agent you choose. Finding a buyer is the easy part for most agents the hard work actually began when Hammonds secured us a buyer. Melanie dealt with our buyer from start to finish and has been brilliant from start to finish and in our opinion has gone well beyond what even I would expect an agent to do to ensure the sale went through quickly. This included collecting our buyer from her home and driving her to her solicitors to ensure paperwork was not delayed and driving her to her bank to arrange for monies to be transferred on time and without delay. I have no doubt that if it were not for the efforts of Mel and the rest of the team we would have lost our own purchase which would have cost us £1000's in lost fees. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH....
