Only 4 stars reflects my feeling that the accommodation was a bit on the tired side. I stayed in a Club Room. This apart, location, estate, staff throughout resort, and food, all fabulous. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.... Read more

Just spent two nights and really enjoyed it. Lovely setting and grounds. Room was great for the price and well stocked with robes towels tea coffee etc. Being able to use the pool and facilities was a bonus too. Lovely breakfast. Only thing I would suggest is being able to visit the main house /castle. You do book becomes the name. Easy access for walkers and to St. Andrews for a day out. Friendly staff. We will be back.... What a wonderful place! It's a very nice 3 bedroom house with all bedrooms en-suite. This place has 2 large outside patios, 1 overlooking the grounds, a swimming pool, a Scottish foods cafe, sauna, spa, hiking paths, recreation center and even a Christmas tree! We couldn't be more pleased with the villa or the staff!
My only complaint is that it's not been cleaned very well and there is nothing in house to clean with. If you're like me and can tell the difference between clean and CLEAN, then bring cleaner with you. Other than that...enjoy your peace and quiet!... Read more

Great place to go with your dog and kids. Lots of places to walk and close to Ellie. Would have been 5 stars but restaurant and bar let it down a bit. A bit small and slow. Portions not that big. Especially breakfast. Half black pudding and haggis.. why half.
The pool and gym facilities are great ???? ????.... Read more

Lovely villa's, but unfortunately it was warmer outside than inside !! We did try to keep the electric bill down by not being in the villa all day, but even just having the electric heating on for an hour in 3 of the bathrooms each evening ! We still clocked up a £50 electric bill.
Apart from that its very pleasant, would possibly have a different view of everything in warmer/ dryer months ? ..maybe a log burner in one or two of the villa's to see how that goes down on clients views in winter months.
Outside path to the property's need an upgrade, coming back to the villa after dark, found us walking on muddy lawns at times ! ..on the few sunny days we had the windows showed that the window cleaner needs to work inside aswell ?
At the end of the day it was only a week we stayed , and it was clean and comfortable , and as i said i wound see it a lot differently in the summer.... Read more

Stayed in villa 52 on the estate for a couple of days. The villa itself slept up to 8 people ( pets are allowed) Good sized rooms, all 3 bedrooms with en suite, comfy beds and all areas clean. Decorated with mixture of old and new and was well equipped of everything required for our stay. Small welcome packs of tea, coffee, milk and toiletries on arrival.
Lovely view of the well maintained grounds from this villa, really peaceful. Patio set to seat 6 people in front of French windows.
Unfortunately we didn't eat in the Bistro but plenty take away delivery services delivered to site.... Read more

Great place for children and the dog. Really friendly reception team and great sports. Lovely setting and great grounds. Cafe/bar should look to improve their team training as service was very slow, but the food was excellent.... Read more

What a lovely venue. We just popped in to have a look at the venue with the idea of booking a dinner table for a birthday next week so just had a quick glass of wine.
Great place to take somebody who hasn't before.
Can't wait for next weeks dinner.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Car parking is easy on site which also has lots of lodges to stay in.
Lovely drive up from the main road upto the Castle through the large estate.... Read more

Fantastic location and good amenities. Pool is a good size but a bit too cold for young kids. Lovely lodges albeit a shade tired in some areas. But a great place for a family holiday.... Read more

A once beautiful place, somewhat spoiled by the city of timeshare properties in close proximity to the main castle. Uncomfortable beds with bedding that was far too heavy. Our room appeared to be ex staff quarters, and backed onto the kitchens so there was no chance of a lie in.
Staff were absolutely brilliant, and have somewhat made up for the failings of the place as a hotel, this would have been a two star review otherwise.
I'm glad we only had to endure the uncomfortable bed for two nights.... Read more
