This is a quick review for Rafal. We’ve had a bad experience in the past with a different agency so we didn’t know what to expect with Maxwell, but honestly, we were very impressed with the service we received from Maxwell. I've recently rented a flat from Maxwell Valentine and must say that from the very first phone call it's been very positive experience (huge difference compared to several big names agencies I've tried in the process). Rafal has been of great help throughout, great knowledge of all aspects of rental, legal/all the red tape bits, the property itself and local area: no worry or question was left unanswered. Friendly, communicative and approachable - it was pleasure to liase with him. The overall experience with Maxwell Valentine was very good: - The contracts were handled online with minimal effort, everything was explained up front and all charges made clear - Any issues during the tenancy were promptly dealt with. Rafal L, our contact at MV, was always very responsive and helpful both while signing the contracts and when we encountered issues at the property - The check-out was clearly planned ahead. Maxwell Valentine is by far the BEST lettings/sales agency I have come across having rented for more than 10 years with big agencies such as Gascoigne pees and Michael Everette nothing can compare to the excellent customer service and care that Maxwell Valentine can bring you. Holly, Rafal and the team were brilliant in putting my mind at ease with everything from referencing stress to negotiating and communicating to the landlord - all concerns were put to ease and we were not pressurised to pay 500 or the deposit until we were reassured everything would definitely go through. It's very hard to find agencies that actually care about anything other than pocketing your money so definitely recommend finding properties through this agency!... Read more

Please be very careful with this company, as they completely took advantage of me in a difficult time. I have dealt with different real estate companies and landlords and never have I seen such a thing. After over a year of tenancy, a family emergency occurred, to which I had to move asap home. I explained this to the agency, who at the time were very understanding and explained so long as another tenant was found, I did not need to pay the three months of notice. As it so happened, another tenant was found, wanted to move in rather quickly, a few days after rent was due, so I paid rent, guaranteed by two different people of the agency I would get the money back as soon as the other tenant settled in and moved out. Weeks went by, me sending emails asking for updates and getting vague responses if any at all, until eventually they said I would not be getting the money back as the walls needed painting and therefore the new tenant didn't move in for another 2 weeks. Now at this point Im shocked, surely someone could've gone and checked and not rushed me out of the house, or at least, update me as soon as it happened?? But no, and when I asked on the phone this, the reply I got was I am sorry, we are so overwhelmed, we can't keep up with the cases. I am a veterinary surgeon, and can guarantee that if I neglected an animal and told the owners that I was sorry and was overwhelmed, it wouldn't stick, so I asked to make a formal complaint. The agency not only ignored my formal complaint, they started asking for money for heating, for a company I was never told at any point during tenancy, and anyone living in maraschino Apartments knows full well how rare the heating is actually necessary, and yet these people were asking me to pay a 500 pound bill. When spoken with the heating company, they had no record of me, my details, my account, and found the value to have discrepancies. After I asked the company to either tell me the accurate value that I used or to pay the bill with the money they took from me, I didn't get a reply, and finally thought the issue was finished, until the past month, when they have repeatedly asked me to pay this bill. Now, not only did I have to deal with a family grievance, moving abruptly and have money taken from me, I never actually got an apology and have this company asking me for money I do not have to pay. At the time I just wanted this behind me, but thankfully saved all emails and records, and now regret not taking legal action, which, if to continue to receive any more harassing emails, I will.... I could not possibly give this company a good review, I spent 2 weeks dealing with Holly, I had to constantly remind her that I'm looking for an apartment. Let me start by saying that I haven't dealt with a company as rude as Maxwell valentine, in particular one of the members of this company Holly, she is the Director of the company and is extremely challenging to deal with. not a good sign. I finally met her to visit a property, the property was disgusting, it was dusty and not cleaned at all, she was telling me that it is normal to move into apartments like this. My experience with maxwel valentine is one of the worst experiences of my life, mainly with Rafal and Holly, they are both the worst agents I have ever come across, I am still battling over my deposit with them as they are trying to take every last penny of my deposit. During my 1 year tenancy they wer extremely useless and never answered any of my queries. I paid an entire years rent upfront and I still received this kind of treatment. The customer service is the worst I have ever experienced by an estate agent. They have a very rude approach questioning individuals who want to book a viewing and the owner of the estate agent, Holly is very unprofessional, rude and has a condescending approach to customers. I have dealt with so many estate agents in the past looking for properties myself or clients looking for properties to live in or invest, and this is worst customer service experience. I have never written a review in my life about a product or service but I had too write this to advise any one who uses reviews as a benchmark, to avoid using them as an agent, because the response received was disgusting and they have been reported to the ombudsman....
