I wonder if the landlords are aware of who they give their houses to? Contact with the agency is tragic, over 40 calls made within a week, at different times of the day. phone never answered, never called back. E-mail - they do not write back to e-mails, and when the Dear Mr. Paul writes back after 15 e-mails, he is not polite and dispose people willing to rent a house. He replies to messages with exclamation marks - this is probably not the right person for this position. He didn't care that you were interested in renting without even seeing the house and that you pay immediately and sign the contract on the same day! I do not recommend this agency, incompetent people who make it difficult to rent a house. I fought with them for a week to see the house, they wouldn't let me - even though I met all the requirements. I hope that every next LANDLORD who reads this opinion will consider whether it is worth handing over the house to them .... Read more

We were good tenants for 5 years. North Star were always rather slow to respond to things. We once went without heating for 2 weeks just before Christmas which was not a good experience. However, we're pretty easy going and thought, "Well, at least we have a reasonable place to live."
The crunch came when we gave notice to move into the affordable housing we had been granted.
First of all, they tried to screw us out of an additional month's rent even though our contract clearly stated we had to give "one calendar month's notice" (we in fact gave a full calendar month's notice, plus two extra days). We clarified things with our lawyer, and no, we did NOT owe an extra month's rent!
Then, having referred us to the Deposit Protection Scheme to get our deposit back, and I quote from Paul at North Star's email, "Please submit your bond request online to the deposit protection service, once I have the keys I will complete the exit check on the property personally, once a bond request is authorised by the landlord it usually appears within the tenants account within 3 working days" .....
Well, it took 4 months and us going through the whole claim process, sworn affidavits, etc, to get our deposit back, because North Star were simply not responding to DPS or us. Shocking. Especially at a time when as self-employed people with no income during lockdown we were going through such a hard time putting food on the table.
North Star had a duty of care to us, and they failed dismally.
Never again.... Read more

Absolute cowboy firm , no communication or feedback whatsoever from these throughout , switched to another agents ( who we sold the property with)
Upon hearing we had secured the sale Northstar tried the cheap stunt of claiming the full fee off us despite the fact that we had adhered to the t&c’s of the contract therefore negating their right to any fee as the property wasn’t sold by them . Safe to say they never bothered us again after realising we were clued up with terms of the contract, just makes me wonder how many other clients have fallen for this trick and been ripped off . Steer well clear folks .... Read more

Property listings are matched to data from the Land Registry by our clever algorithm. Clever as it may be, it isn't always right, especially if a property was listed by multiple agents. The asking price is the original listing price, NOT the final listing price.
