We have purchased and sold properties through Oakwood homes for a few years now and they also manage some of our rental properties. We have always found them to be professional, helpful and very responsive to questions. We will use them for any future properties we list, buy or rent.

This company, Oakwood Homes, doesn't seem very proactive. When my husband emailed them about a rental property, they didn't respond except for an automated acknowledgment. Despite promising to call back when he followed up with a phone call, they never did. Frustrated, we decided to look elsewhere and contacted Miles & Barr, who promptly responded and helped us find a rental home within days. It's no surprise that Oakwood Homes has properties sitting vacant for months. Perhaps the staff at Birchington Oakwood aren't fully committed to their roles. Landlords should be cautious about entrusting their properties to this company.

We were selling my late father in laws property and initially we required a valuation for probate. Oakwoods were the only agents in the area that came back to us and helped us with this, so when the time came to instruct an agent to market the property Oakwoods were the obvious choice. They gave us a realistic valuation of the property and what our expectations should be. They did not over inflate the price, as some agents do, just to receive instruction and then drop the price after a few weeks because there was no interest. Oakwood actually sold the property within a week!

Very poor service and pravtice -was told if we offer above asking price property would be taken off the market-then told that other potential buyers would still be viewing property!also seem more interested in getting us to see their financial adviser and using their solicitors also .

I cannot fault the service we received from Oakwood. From agreeing a sensible valuation through to completion Oakwood remained in contact and kept us informed of developments. Oakwood were also the letting agent and continued to undertake visits whilst the property was unoccupied. Overall a thoroughly positive experience.

I have recently purchased a property through Oakwood Homes Birchington branch. All the staff, Hayley, Christal and Steve were extremely helpful throughout the lengthy process. Because of a problem with the lease I had the unfortunate experience of having to withdraw from a property I as purchasing ten weeks into the proceedings. I didn't want to break the chain on my sale so Hayley devoted an entire afternoon taking me to alternative properties and I was fortunate to immediately find a property that was even better than the one I was originally buying. There were no hold ups and together with the help of Liz Dack, my lawyer at Boys and Maughan, we caught up and completed within the original time scale. At a time of buying and selling we need both practical and emotional help and all the staff at Oakwood (and Liz) were exceptionally supportive during this stressful time.
