Waited over an hour after ordering, for our food to come to the table. And when it did, it was extremely underwhelming. Frozen food simply deep fried and served on a handful of salad. All the same deep fried beige colour, didnt look nice. Can't understand why it took an hour to prepare and serve when we were one table of two who were eating in. Food was so oily that none of us wanted to finish. Left us feeling sick. Lack of vegan options. Despite calling two days in advance and being assured I could easily swap out non-vegan sides for vegan ones, I had to actually bargain with the staff to replace my coleslaw included with the burger, with more than 2 onion rings. They ended up giving me 3, but because they were so oily and thin, it was just pure batter. We travelled quite far to come here for a meal, and were seriously let down. We used to love the blue boar. It was also very cold, could've done with having the heating on or the beautiful open fire. The waitress was very nice, only nice thing I have to say about it. We understand that she had no say in the menu or what went on in the kitchen.... Read more

As a large family, we gathered on Boxing Day. The service was extremely friendly and jovial. The home cooked food was served hot and all in good time. The portion size was exceptional with the quality of the food being excellent. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend the Blue Boar for another family meal.... Read more
