We've visited a property to let with John D Wood. We liked the property, and sent an offer. Offer accepted. So we paid the holding deposit.
We went through the referencing, very long and time consuming. It took 15 days to have a feedback. And the feedback was : we can't reference you because your tax returns were from France, not from the UK.
The letting agent offered us to pay all the rents (18 months) upfront, to skip the reference. We obviously refused.
And we started panicking, because our move out date from our current property was approaching... We quickly visited other properties. We found a house to let through another letting agency. The referencing took literally 2 days, and we had no issues (they accepted tax returns from France). Luckily, we have been able to find house to let in time.
John D Wood came back to us, in the meanwhile, saying that the landlord had finally accepted to rent us his property, even if our tax returns were from France.
But it was too late. We had already found another house.
But John D Wood is refusing to reimburse our holding deposit, because they say that it's our decision not to let this house and that our offer was accepted by the landlord.
So we now have to enter into a legal fight.
I would highly recommend NOT to work with John D Wood.

Absolutely shocking experience. Very brief but negative encounter with Jenna Shakir who was extremely rude and unprofessional. She had arranged for photographers to come into our home to take photos. When we arrived home our flat had been rearranged with clothes thrown on the floor and valuables damaged. After reaching out to try to get her to solve the issue, Jenna initially agreed it was shocking and wrong and then a couple of days later went back on her word saying it’s nothing to do with her and our responsibility to sort out with a 3rd party photographer (which she arranged). Would not recommend trusting her or John D Wood with your property as a landlord or tenant.

We were most impressed by the professionalism, determination and patience shown to us by all at John D Wood Earls Court, but particularly by David and Simon who took it is as their personal mission to sell our 2 bedroom flat! The perseverance and energy they put into marketing our flat in very difficult market conditions was simply amazing. They continually supported, reassured and communicated with us throughout the whole process leaving us feeling fully informed and in control. Thank you all so much.

We purchased our two bedroom flat through John D Wood at Fulham Broadway earlier this year. Our estate agent John Hyslop was attentive, professional and communicated clearly throughout the entire process to ensure we were kept fully informed. We would absolutely recommend John to anyone in the area looking to buy a property.

As a recent arrival from the states, I was desperately seeking a flat to move into as soon as possible. My initial plans fell through, but Bec came to the rescue! She was incredibly determined to find me my ideal flat quickly, and to my delight, I was able to move in within a week. Great agency, Souhail is always there for answering you, either through text, email or phone which is very helpful. The reference agency is been a bit tough but Souhail tried his best to help me, and I got a great flat. Even the contract signed they are still there to help you with bills etc and explain you everything.
