I have dealt with Connells in St. Albans for many years and have found the service to be first class at all times. Doug Guerrier leads a fantastic office and has been most generous with his advice over the years to myself and others I have recommended to them.
We have bought and sold houses through Connells on more than one occasion and have been very happy with the service. Doug has away tried to achieve the best price for us within the market conditions and has always served us well. I would certainly recommend Connells.
Lettings branch is appalling from tenants perspective:
* ignoring e-mails
* promising things that they don't intend to do
* requires constant chasing up and calling
* never get a straight answer
* in general when dealing with them is very unpleasant
The landlord has contacted the agency 2 weeks ago now, asking for a deposit release. Since then I have called a number of times and sent several e-mails. All the e-mails are ignored, and the phone calls end up with "the responsible person is out of office, we will call you back".
I have found Hamptons to be both helpful & professional throughout the process of buying my house. I was kept very well informed of the status of the chain from making an offer through to completion. Being given flowers on moving-in day was a lovely added bonus.
After living in a property for 2.5 years we had the usual dealings with Hamptons, not good or bad, until checkout.
This all happened during lockdown so I understand that these aren’t normal circumstances but I am still working and still managed to safely move house and vacate and arrange professional cleaners before end of tenancy so not really an excuse.
No response to emails or phone calls (from me and the landlord, who I am in contact with.) It’s been two weeks since checkout with no communication other than to request 2 days rent as their checkout was 2 days after end of contract, I was out of the property! (They don’t do them on weekends apparently,) hardly my fault!
Disappointing to say the least.
I had Scott and Mandy.. Scott dealt with my application and Mandy showed me and informed of the properties whilst giving great advice..
Scott personally handled my application beginning to end super friendly and always helpful. Extremely professional.
As a letting agent the No Deposit Option is an incredible opportunity as well as Scott hearing we were recently married was able to make adjustments with the application fees and as soon as I brought them up in the first place he was honest and helpful and reduced it down as well as considered me and my wife as a joint applicant (as it should be ) whereas anyone else I called was non negotiable and forced me and my wife to apply separately (£675 and that was just references!!) Where's Scott got it to a much more agreeable £200 and that's allegiance we paid for all fees.
Never had such a pleasureable experience with realtors
The estate agent should have made me aware of a lively pizza restaurant one foot from my front door, had I been aware of that I would never have moved in but now I am stuck here for the next seven months of my life living with this noise
The Frosts letting team were very quick and efficient at replying and the service has been very personable and reliable throughout the process. Sophie did a great job at keeping me in the loop about everything and helping me with any questions or worries i had. They helped me find my dream home so I'm very happy!
If you're looking for a trustworthy estate agents that will put your needs first this is the one for you.

Absolutely incompetent bunch of property managers. Left me with a dead rat from the previous tenant - which they refused to acknowledge or investigate.
Had to clean and disinfect the property myself for weeks whilst the larvae hatched. Frost's wouldn't accept there was a rat until I sent pictures. However the pest control contractors told me they were familiar with my property and Frost's were aware of the issues with vermin in the area.
Exercise caution - document everything!
I wouldn't even give them one star. Very poor service.
