Excellent service throughout the process of buying our new home. Staff all friendly and helpful. A special mention to Grant for securing the purchase & Janine for all her dedication in helping us to complete.
After living in a property for 2.5 years we had the usual dealings with Hamptons, not good or bad, until checkout.
This all happened during lockdown so I understand that these aren’t normal circumstances but I am still working and still managed to safely move house and vacate and arrange professional cleaners before end of tenancy so not really an excuse.
No response to emails or phone calls (from me and the landlord, who I am in contact with.) It’s been two weeks since checkout with no communication other than to request 2 days rent as their checkout was 2 days after end of contract, I was out of the property! (They don’t do them on weekends apparently,) hardly my fault!
Disappointing to say the least.
Received fantastic service from Brian Moran at WHB as a first time buyer. He kept me sane throughout an extremely difficult wait for a mortgage, and chased the bank in question relentlessly despite horrific service levels on their side. I can wholeheartedly say the sale would not be going through without him. I can't recommend his services highly enough.
Avoid these guys like the plague!
Myself and my wife found a property with WHB using Rightmove. At first they were really nice and efficient to show us the house. As soon as we put an offer forward it all started going terribly wrong and never got better. First, they increased our offer to the landlord by £50 without our consent, which obviously made the landlords very happy and unwilling to take any less, when we queried this obvious mistake, the agency justified it saying that it was because we own a dog, which was certainly not the reason as we met the owners and were perfectly happy with us and the dog.
Secondly, as we did the referrals we started getting tonnes of unwanted publicity from various suppliers who had obtained our personal data from the referencing agency. When we complained about this they just excuse themselves saying it was not them but a third party working on their behalf, shocking!
They were terrible to negotiate the agreement with the landlords and kept calling us at work to do their job and track down the referrals from our previous agency, although we paid £120 for that service!!
Just to finish it, instead of accepting a money transfer they suggested paying by card on the day we collected the keys, to which we agreed. Once at their offices they took our cards and overcharged us by £800!!! It might not be much for many people, but when you are moving paying thousands in fees, rent and deposit, £800 make a massive difference. The method they used to charge us with the card did not require PIN, so we could not verify the amount before they charged it. To all this, the office manager barely apologies and said we would check it on Monday next week, rather than trying to sort out something there and then.
On Monday the following week, they did not even bother to give us call to let us know they were on the ball and chasing the matter urgently, and when we called to query they were less than helpful.
Overall, you can see that as most letting agents (this one in particular), they just continue on business by the shear amount of demand there is and because as a tenant you are forced to pick from the least crappy one out there. These guys are slow, inefficient, and not bothered on giving a good service. If you can, try to avoid them, if you cannot, tread very carefully and don't assume they are doing their job; just like a lazy mule, they need a few whiplashes to react.
Worked hard to get buyers in rather than sit back and wait on people finding us online. Overall I found them proactive. We had over 25 viewings.
I came all the way from London, to see no place at all. They left me waiting at the door of the apartment with no explanation. Also they don't provide transport, so if it happens that unfortunately you have to deal with them count with commuting time.
The bunch here are pro-active and quite professional and would stretch a mile to help you.
my experience with this company is very disappointing, my wife and i like a property and we schedule a visit, when we arrived at the place it was not the property we had been interested in, so far so good, we think it was just a inconvenience but no. we called the agency and they told us that the property was no longer available, please do it more clearly. I don't recommend it to anyone.
We are looking for a new house, we saw one that was for this agency, we ran to the agency in St. Albans to get this house, when we got there the agent simply told us to go on the website, even though we had already left London and gone there, furthermore said that the house had already been rented, and when we entered the site it was still available. I thought it was disregard and also a little prejudice for being immigrants
Everything was fine until it came to receiving the tenancy deposit back, i have probably reminded them 10+ times, 4 months have now passed.
