I thought carefully about writing this review as normally I wouldn't take the time to do such a thing. But I really thought that this S&P office in St Albans were very unprofessional and lacked any customer service. However, I must say there was a Secretary who I spoke to who was lovely. Just to give some context, I responded to an ad for a 2 bed property. I received no response therefore emailed the agent directly. Again, no response. So i emailed again. Finally after 4 days, the agent called. I am a nurse so they left a message asking me to contact them. I'm a nurse so was unable to call until that evening, so I text the agent asking to view. Again, no response. I text 3 times that day, no response. I called around 5.30 that evening and left a voicemail. The next day, I again received no response to which I text again stating i'd email, text, and called and no response so was there someone else I should speak with. At this point the agent called me back early that afternoon. We arrange to view the property on Monday. When I attended, the usual show around was done and I advised I'd be putting in an offer. I advised, I needed to move quickly, and would appreciate him letting me know asap. He said as soon as he got in his car he would email me the details. This was mid-afternoon. It was only later in the evening that I received the email asking three things - offer, job title, who'd be living there, and moving date. Which I completed immediately. To this day - I never received an acknowledgement of that email or a response. In fact, despite sending him again a couple of further emails asking him to response he did not. We led to me contacting the office, then a colleague 3 days later. She advised me that the landlord had accepted another offer, which was now going through referencing. She said that she would speak to the said graduate agent. Following this, you'd of thought you'd have received and apology from him BUT nothing. Whilst I appreciate people are busy, but given the current situation in the world, how difficult it is moving home customer service and kindness is key. If you cannot provide a good service to the number of people you invite in, invite less and instead do a good job.... Read more

I moved into my beautiful 450 year old cottage last month and thanks to Gina the process of buying my future home was a very happy one. Although the process ended up taking nearly 15 months the friendly, professional, honest and calm nature of Gina made the whole process stress free. Gina kept in constant contact with both me and the lovely couple I bought the cottage from. This meant everyone was well informed and, although the chain was broken a couple of times due to problems with my buyers, Gina created a good level of trust with all parties which kept us on track! Gina was quick to respond to any queries or worries I had throughout the process and her bubbly friendly personality made her a pleasure to deal with. Gina Simpson We can sumarise Gina’s support for us in terms of selling our house in one word – superb! We decided to interview three estate agents before putting our home of 44 years on the market. We used the ‘Which’ guide to interviewing agents as a basis. Gina came out ‘head and shoulders’ above the opposition. She was, and has remained throughout this long transaction period, polite, courteous, professional, knowledgeable, personable and consistent. She has a good sense of fun which goes a long way to relieving the pressures that moving to a new house can create. She also suggested, and achieved, a sale price of £25k above the opposition’s suggestion, which was helpful, but not by any means the most important factor. It took one visit on day one of entering the market for Gina to secure our buyer…. and 14 months for the house to sell. Gina remained in touch throughout those 14 months, phoning us regularly on the same day each week to update us. We can only praise her professionalism! Now the deal is done, and we can reflect on the process. We know we made the right choice in choosing Strutt and we know we made the right choice in choosing Gina as your representative to carry through the process. She is a great agent and a fantastic representative of your sales department. As we said at the beginning – superb! Many thanks to all the team too, particularly Daryl-Lee. Only one thing to add, we are still looking for a home in the Wendover/ Chinnor area and would appreciate some help from Strutt to achieve this. I've looked at several houses in St Albans and registered with 6 different Estate Agents. Out of all of the Agents we've used Strutt & Parker are the by far the worst! I would not recommend buying or selling a property with this company! The agent we used turned up late to our viewing and could not answer any of our queries. They even failed to get back to us with answer to our questions, despite promising that they would. We eventually decided to put an offer in on a house, but after a week they still did not let us know whether it had been accepted or rejected! Absolutely appalling service, I really would not recommend using this agent! They always extremely friendly, very professional and respond to all queries immediately. The agents showing us around the houses are extremely knowledgeable and come prepared with notes to answer any questions that you have. The houses are also priced sensibly compared to other agents.... Read more

Simple phone call to enquire about a rental property in the area. Was met with such dead pan, zero options, definitely no charm. It's rare I feel so disappointed that I write a negative review. However, after speaking to quite a few agents in the area & being treated so well, I didn't think it's fair for this person to speak to me the way she did. Our experience with Strutt & Parker has been a universally positive one through both the viewing and sale periods. We changed from another agency to S & P after our home was on the market for 6 months without an offer. S & P had it under offer within one month. The viewing experience was also night and day compared to the other agency.
