My final year at Uni was spent in an AHAH house....quite literally spent at the house with the pandemic and I can honestly say I was impressed with how any issues we had were dealt with from the AHAH group and the Landlord, both of which, had I not been in my final year, I would have stayed on with again, I'm sad to see the back of it.
Definitely made the end of my University experience living with great people, in a great house, with great landlords/company.... Read more

Absolutely most unprofessionally inconsiderate group. If it's one thing experiencing financial difficulties due to COVID was that they don't care how you get the money they just want it and by all means they will threaten you with "legal action". They rush you to sign these contracts knowing well some if not a large majority of students will not read them, lesson learnt, read before singing no matter the pressure.
I had an awful experience from moving in, the constant antagonizing for rent rent rent rent DURING A PANDEMIC was overwhelming it sent me into anxiety and depression mode. They enter your flat without you knowing and when you "catch them" they have this attitude with you. Sorry but I will never use or recommend any student to use this agency.... Read more

Really unimpressed. As soon as I moved in we were all given a week to say if we wanted the house for the next year, which we did but because we didn't have someone to fill one room the booked it off anyway and gave us no time to find someone else to live here.
The house is constantly cold, 2 of us have had to buy heaters and when fed this back we were told it's a fire hazard and shouldn't have them so we were basically told to live in the cold. The heating is capped and is always set to 9 degrees and is never on, when fed this back the landlord put it up my 1.5 degrees but then sets it down after a couple of weeks.
All the rooms have damp but it is not sorted and the landlord knows but has told us nothing can be done. The front door needs replacing as there is big gaps all the way around which contributes to the house being constantly cold. My room has cracks all up the wall and I have even had slugs in my room which is disgusting to live in. We had to wait over 6 months for lights to be changed in all the bedrooms, kitchen and living room. We have also had a couple of encounters of a mouse running around and still the landlord was told and said he would sort it out but nothing has been done.
AHAH do not care about any problem fed back to them, nor does the landlord and will always be egar to take your rent off you without fixing the problems at all. It's a disgrace that we are expected to live in these conditions and they know. I would't take up a tenancy agreement with them again and do not recommend anyone else does... Read more

My experience with AHAH has not been a good one and I discourage anyone else from doing business with them.
During our stay, we had multiple problems including a washer that would regularly break and be 'fixed' and then break again, when it clearly should have been replaced, our back door has broken multiple times, been reported and then left broken, which is a security issue, we were promised new breakfast stools and reparations of the kitchen counter top, which throughout our year stay never happened, our sofa broke and was replaced with what was obviously a used sofa, which was dumped on us to rearrange the room and try and fit it with everything else in the room ourselves.
Furthermore, they have no care for their tenants nor their circumstances, they do not respect negotiations. They are not a good provider to stay with, the only part of your tenancy that they will monitor and care about is the money... Read more

Well what can I say they should stick to student accommodation never mind residential accommodation. This agency had control of this property roughly for about 2 1/2 years. We have been here for 9 1/2 years now and we have based it as a home but due to the lack of soundproofing and other modern Materials that are used with modern day construction for acoustics barriers between properties this place is severely lacking this kind of technology. First couple we had upstairs three kids chaotic lifestyleAnd no discipline within the family once we started complaining about the attitude and the lack of courtesy from the above tenants admittedly I may have or could’ve approached it in a different way. The tenants made our lives a misery for a whole year. I must’ve sent just under 100 emails And appeared in the branch to complain about the tenants above it was like talking to a brick wall they didn’t give a hoot as long as the rent was still being paid. Rather bizarrely the tenant suddenly vanished overnight peace and relief and tranquillity for a short time. Until another mother turned up with a child I’m a 14-year-old no Consideration From the agency once again. We had four months of Merryhell. We involve the council the police were called out nine times within four months I lost my job because of these people and because of my illness I now find it virtually impossible to find an employer caring enough and understandable enough to take me on. The property was covered in eggs due to the tenants upstairs it got to a point I went into home after halls And chucked my toys out because enough is enough as my health is at stake after losing my job the inconsiderate Tenants that we had to put with because of their lifestyle. I now find myself struggling To find work the above tenants who was asked to leave live in the life of Reilly. I thought letting agents were supposed to be supportive within their roles as a duty of care to help each and every single one of us with our accommodation not ruin our lives as have HAH... Read more

I hope to anyone looking at the reviews sees this before all the other made up reviews that they get their staff to write to make up for all of the other horrendous reviews they have. Please please please go anywhere else. This company made me feel unsafe and anxious in my student flat. They do not care about anything except getting as much money as they can from you. They steal your deposits and make out like you damage things when they are well aware of the damages prior. They dont look at the properties before you move in so you are more than likely walking into a death trap (like mine was). They book viewings and contractor visits ALL THE TIME and will force their way into the property without asking. Just please be conscious of these con artists. It is a horrible place to go with if you are a student.... Read more

Worst lettings agent I've ever dealt with. Unresponsive, tried to charge me for breaking a chair which belonged to me! I find it very interesting that all the 5 star reviews have default profile pictures and have only left one review! Fairly obvious to anyone who looks for more than a second that 'AHAH' have been creating fake reviews for themselves. People aren't stupid and this companies terrible reputation is well known amongst students. Unfortunately they manage a lot of student properties so can be hard to avoid, but if you can avoid them then do!... Read more

Just finished Uni this year and graduated with a 2:1 =) And at my time in Plymouth (5 years) I've gone with a few different letting agents. But let me say in no uncertain terms, this is the BEST lettings agents I've ever worked with.
Any issues with the house were sorted out within 1 -3 days at the maximum. The staff there are super friendly and understanding, but most importantly they're fair.
While other lettings agents I've been with tell you that they will give you notice for house viewings a lot of the time they don't. They tell you that the maintenance guy will be there within a week, and you have to call them a million times before he comes round the next week. With a home after halls everything is done as it is advertised (don't take that for granted!). If they tell you the maintenance man will be there tomorrow, he actually WILL be there the next day. I remember our internet went down during exam time and they managed to get someone round and fix it the same day!
The last thing to mention is the fact their fees are so low. Other letting agents charge you for a deposit guarantee scheme, referencing, checking in and out fees, administrative fees.etc A home after halls charged me one administrative fee and I was done! Signed the contract and moved in, no hassle.
Can't give these guys enough praise, they made Uni so much more enjoyable. I'd recommend them to anyone that would listen =)... Read more

After having acquired our student house from a previous letting agency, Home after Halls have worked tirelessly to improve the current standard of the house- particular mention goes to Dan (the electrician/ miracle maker) who has proved to be incrediblely helpful in understanding what needs to be fixed in the house! Definitely a real asset to the company!! Further to this, issues with our previous letting agency regarding wifi has been fixed almost within an instant by Home after Halls, with their workers having extensive knowledge on bettering networks, and making sure everyone has access to a good signal. Awful experience! The house had a mice infestation coupled with dodgy electrics which at one point nearly caused a fire, a deliberately hidden mold problem in one of the rooms that was hazardous to health and a gas leak. In general, the only rooms of the house that didn't need a complete do over were the shower rooms.
The desk staff at A Home After Halls are sexist. Whenever a male housemate called them they were polite, the same can not be said for whenever a female housemate tried to contact them. A Home After Halls do not care for your well-being. They locked me outside of my room once, while I was having a shower, just before I had oral presentation deadline.
The tradesmen they hired were for the most part good, the electricians being very polite and friendly. However, the people they hired for the gas leak were useless.
A Home After Halls used to be named Chris Shorey Letting Agents until they changed it to wipe away their notorious reputation of the WORST student letting agents in Plymouth.... Read more
