Never again! Bounded for sales and desphave a family concerns and explaining that I did not which to have any further contact with them, I still received numerous phone calls from their desperate sales representative, we would recommend not using the estate agent....there is much better out there!... connells mutley are the rudest, most incompetent estate agent we have had the misfortune to deal with. they will LIE about bookings, making 'ghost' bookings and also people just turn up for viewings unannounced because connells can't be bothered to ring you the seller to let you know. absolute shambles these guys. avoid at all costs.... The people that I have spoken to are just not nice people. Asked to arrange a viewing, got told I would be called back, never did. Called again a few days later, they couldn't fit me in on such short notice. Called again, giving them 48hrs notice, yep they'll fit me in. Finally... After nearly a week of trying to arrange a viewing, yippee! Show up, no ones there. Call them, no viewing booked, they don't know what happened. However one nice person came out of the office to show us round. James, very nice gent, though he did spin my a story about how she had owned it for 13yrs and done up from derelict. (house was purchased 4 years ago, nicely decorated though a bit old fashioned. Owner had actually redecorated and even taken out an ensuite!). Wanted to put in an offer (despite this) got laughed at and spoken to incredibly rudely and humiliating!! However still continued with to call them and try to up our offer! Now they won't even call us! Whoever is selling this house! I'm trying my best but this company is the worst!!... Read more

1.Taking more than 6 months to sell a house with good condition and no onward chain to a first time buyer. 2. I only found out I had to pay the flat estate agents fee calculated as 1.25% of asking price plus VAT before the exchange of contracts. My fault not to check their contract carefully but their guy gave me a wrong impression of a fixed rate in the quotation period. 3. Viewings without informing me first when I was busy moving out. So much inconvenience and embarrassments. 4. The current buyer was left in front of my house when Connells forgot to get the right key to enter. And it was me who showed the buyer around! 5. Helped the buyer to slash almost 6% of the asking price from me yet charging me estate agents fees based on the asking price. When the buyer wanted to renegotiate the price after a buyers report, Connells called me several times to 'pursuade' me to lower the price. 6. They told me the guy who quoted me the fee had left their company. So, I was hoping to gain a few thousand pounds from selling my beloved house of 5 year residence but ended up with little gain after paying all the fees, over 6 months of council taxes and building insurances though I was not living in the house, especially the 2125 pounds+VAT to Connells. Do you deserve to get this much, Connells?!... Read more

My partner rented a studio flat Mayfair House regent street using Connells , the landlord was useless never fixed any thing ,when she finished the tenancy Connells over charged for rent,used underhand ways to take the deposit money ,not a answering emails asking what the deductions where, and the landlord tried to charge for damage that was already present in the flat ,took 8 months to get the deposit back after a lot of emails, so be warned take lots of photos of the flat when you move into a flat in MAYFAIR HOUSE or they will try to charge you for damage that is already there... Hard to find anything posative to say to be frank! Bunch of lieing, money grabbing, useless, unhelpful, deceiving, ignorant, bad mannered, shall i go on! Please, please save your time, money and sanity, and stay well clear of these Estate agents. I know i wish i did and could of saved weeks of stress, upheaval, time, money, and anti depressants! Stay as clear as you can. I’m in Plymouth the staff are rude, you won’t hear from them unless you ring them. I had my house on the market and had one viewing in 6 months then moved from them to another and had 6 viewings and 2 offers in 2 months. They tie you down for 6 months. They swore at my friend when he was trying to buy. They are by far the most unprofessional people I’ve ever had the misfortune to encounter. If I could give 0 stars that would be generous... Terrible service start to finish. Useless company, incapable of even the most basic assistance when needed. Even on the day we moved in initially they messed up the paperwork and left us hanging for hours before finally handing over the keys. Also their rep told me the place had parking (it didn't), it took them three months to repair a washing machine, they apparently do not keep a spare set of keys for their properties so if you lose a set you're screwed and when the front door handle broke off (major security issue) I called immediately and had no response for five days. It took calling the actual landlord to get it sorted. This place should be shut down and the management responsible for the numerous problems, lack of transparency and deeply inept attitudes of their staff should be held to account and fired immediately. Do not even dream of buying or letting a house through Connells. You will instantly regret it I can promise you.... Read more

I made an enquiry for a £500,000 property and was greeted,by telephone,by a non-English speaking female who informed me she was working from home and would email me the particulars. She had no idea where the property was or who would deal with it and I have heard nothing. I feel for the unfortunate clients attempting to sell their property and confirms the belief that the specialist "upmarket" agents [Stags/Langs/Cummings] are successful for a reason. Connells should stick to their niche first time buyer lower priced property and leave the professionals to the luxury market.... Read more

Just plain AWFUL agency, as soon as you walk through the door to their office you get judged upon your looks, the people can't look at you in the eyes when LIEING straight to your face. Messed myself and my friends around for about a month with this one property they put on the market 48 Peverell Terrace (I say the address because I know they will read my review and know who I am ????) whenever we tried to come in to put money down for a housing fee they would shoo (yes that is correct, shoo us) away (um... that isn't your job) and tell us "we will call you later" with their fake little smiles, oh I forgot they NEVER called us back it was ALWAYS a case of us trying to ring them pretty much everyday and we would get the same "we will call you later" did I mention they never did? ???? This one guy Matt (be careful of this one, he's a time waster and a liar) would tell us all we had to do was come in £100 each to put down a holding fee but never would be in the office (bullshit, whenever he saw us he would pretend to be doing something busy and would avoid us) just don't go with Connells guys as they are time wasters and they want to take more and more money from you the more they hear you are interested in the property, pure crap agency. Told us a week ago someone bought the property but it is STILL on their website, something tells me this was just prejudice because of how we looked as a group and because we wasn't a "loving" family...
