I have been for afternoon tea several times with friends to celebrate their birthdays and have always enjoyed the surroundings and the food served.
However, this was not the case last Friday 17th December, my friend and I were very disappointed with the sandwiches - very little filling and taste, also as listed on the menu card we did not have a homemade mince pie and there was no Christmas cake. Our teapot was refilled but not with a fresh tea bag, so weak tea too. Not what we were expecting.

the 3 young waitresses in the bar need more training in customer relationship, in terms of remembering what has been ordered and be more professional in their attitude, not chatting so much between themselves and have a cavalier attitude toward customers. The young cook seems also to be taking a lot of cigarette breaks.

It's hard to believe this place is actually a retirement village when you walk into it. The decor is amazing and really gives the old school building a new lease of life. The modern decor continues into the large dining room which looks out over Malvern. As for the food this was also a winner. All 3 courses were lovely. Me and my girlfriend were very satisfied after. I had the steak which was perfectly cooked. It was just what we needed after a long walk in the hills.
The restaurant was very quitet for a Saturday afternoon which is a shame as this place deserves more love from the locals who need to realise that it's not just full of old people!
We were lucky to be offered a tour of the village by the general manager. I was very impressed by all the facilities which included a library, swimming pool and gym. All I can say is of this is what I have to expect when I finish my working life, roll on retirement!
